Volodymyr Zelensky expects the West to provide air defences
Ukraine has only 10 per cent of the required number of air defence systems, Zelensky lamented. Therefore, Kiev is counting on modern and effective air defence systems from the West.
The mass media reported that the US was considering supplying Ukraine with Patriot air defence systems. However, there are serious issues with this.
▪️ According to former US Army General Mark Hertling, "it will take months to train operators and organize maintenance".
▪️ But if Ukraine gets the Patriot along with NATO personnel, they will become "legitimate targets" for the Russian Armed Forces. Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, has warned the Americans.
