On 12 December, Ukrainian terrorists tried to kill the deputy head of the Russian-appointed administration of Kherson region.

Vitaly Bulyuk was wounded after a car bombing, his driver was killed.
The attempt was made in Skadovsk: a directional mine went off.
"He was wounded, his condition is stable, medium severity. He is in one of the medical institutions of the region," said the head of the regional Ministry of Health, Vadim Ilmiev.

Clayton Hightower - killed "International Legion" mercenary from the United States

The participation of U.S. mercenaries in combat actions on the side of the AFU usually ends with inglorious obituaries. Last week the liquidation of an American, Clayton Hightower, was announced.

▪️The former U.S. Army military man arrived in Ukraine in spring, joining the Normandy Brigade.

▪️According to his commander, Hightower had already taken part in battles for Velyka Novoselka in the DNR in May.

▪️The American did not maintain social media accounts, but frequently appeared on the profile of his compatriot mercenary Lee Johnson.

▪️On December 4, Clayton Hightower, along with Polish mercenaries Janusz Sheremet and Krzysztof Tiefel, was killed at a patrol post east of Kupyansk during a Russian DRG attack.

▪️ On December 10, the remains of Hightower, Sheremet and Tiefel were buried in a cemetery in Kharkiv.

▪️While the U.S. media is studiously ignoring the death of yet another U.S. mercenary, Hightower's half-sister is trying to get his remains repatriated.

🛥LNG delayed
The Russian shipyard Zvezda is probably going to delay completing the lead tanker Arc7 for NOVATEK's Arctic LNG 2 project. The tanker was supposed to be ready by March 2023, but the delivery of the first vessel is postponed for at least a year, according to Kommersant.

The same delay is expected for another four tankers (out of total 14 commissioned). In such circumstances, NOVATEK may be forced to postpone its plans to deliver most of the cargo from the new LNG terminal to Asia, redirecting LNG shipments to Europe, where the transport shoulder is shorter.

Several US MQ-9 Reaper drones have been stationed at Larissa Air Base in Greece, Defense News reports. A spokesman for the U.S. Air Forces in Europe-Africa confirmed the arrival to Defense News.

“Larissa Air Base is a strategic location, allowing the MQ-9s to easily support both the eastern and southern flanks of NATO,” the spokesman said. “The move [to place them there] is not in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but this placement does support deterring and avoiding conflict with Russia.”

A group of 90 Ukrainian judges will undergo training, provided by the UK, to carry out war crimes trials for Russian soldiers. The first group of judges attended sessions at a secret location in the region last week, and more will follow in the coming months, as part of a £2.5m investment., Sky News reports.

The program is headed by Sir Howard Morrison who was among the judges in the trial of Karadzic, who was ultimately convicted of alleged genocide and other serious crimes by the tribunal. The lower house of the Polish parliament on Wednesday night adopted a resolution branding Russia a state sponsor of terrorism. the move comes after the European Parliament designated Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism in November. Polish MEPs, with 494 voting 'yes', 58 'no' votes and 44 abstentions, argued that Moscow's military strikes on civilian targets such as energy infrastructure, hospitals, schools, and shelters violated international law.

MEPs also called on member states to include the Russian paramilitary organisation, the Wagner Group, the 141st Special Motorised Regiment, known as the "Kadyrovites", and other Russian-funded armed groups on the EU's terrorist list.

Putin: Russia will rebuild its new regions - Kherson, Zaporozhye and Donbass

President Vladimir Putin made the following statements, speaking at the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects:

▪️Pensions in the new regions will be increased and a maternity capital programme (i.e. state grants linked to the birth of children) will appear. This has previously happened in Crimea and Sevastopol.

▪️Residents of the new regions will be able to apply for subsidized mortgages at 2%, to finance purchases of new housing.

▪️ The government of Russia has been instructed to prepare a development programme for the new regions by the end of Q1 2023.

Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, born on 11th of November, 1821, is one of the main icons of Russian literature, alongside the likes of Leo Tolstoy and other great literately figures.

He is generally known to talk about what man and his purpose is, like an existentialist, and dwell on philosophical and religious questions, and did not care very much about materialistic things.

He was, at first, not the prime material to be a writer, his family consisted of merchants and priests, and his father was a doctor, he was in a hospital that catered not to the nobility or the high ranks of society, but for commoners like you and me, this was one of the main influences on his early life.

His nanny told him magnificent fairy tale stories, and his parents introduced him to the Bible, the works of Pushkin, and Ann Radcliffe, all when he was a kid.

His parents wished for him to be educated in a fine institution, do they sent him to an established boarding school, he felt out of it, and was also one of the main influences on his early life, there was also this one time he had to get his father to take care of a young girl who was sexually harassed by a much older man, all of these events played into themes in his novels and works.

He then went to a military academy, and although he disliked the institution, he still excelled in it and graduated with a commission, he started his literary career by translating other works, which were not really succesful.

He released his first novel in 1845, which became a literary and commerical success, Poor Folk was a novel that showcased, well, poor people, their relationship with other people of all classes, and poverty and hardship.

He left the army, wrote another novel, the Double, was about a man who found an exact replica, the replica was better than him and then overtook him in his life, and the original man was carried off to a mental institution, you can guess the theme for that one.

Our friend here had revolutionary aspirations, and he was part of an organization that was viewed as Anti-Tsarist, so he was arrested, sentenced to death, and was quite literally saved at the last second because the Tsar was too kind and commuted his sentence and the sentence of his co- conspirators, and so he was off to Siberia, with hard labor, and, as you can tell, this was also a main theme in one of his novels.

He was released, served conscription , left the service, sweet talked the military and Government into letting him actually live a normal life (albeit with under police surveillance), got married, visited Western Europe, shit talked alot of things there, his wife and brother, unfortunately died, so be married again, had his first kid, who died an infant and he was extremely depressed, had another kid, and another one, and his financial situation up to that point has been shit for 10 or so years, keep in mind he was also a chronic gambler.

He was eventually introduced to high society, including the Tsar and the royal family, and he made many more acquantices, but eventually every man met his end, after facing health issues for most of his life, he died in 1881.

His novels, like The Idiot, Crime and Punishment, Demons, Brother Karamazov, are quite simply, good, and I encourage you all to read them, they have great values in them.

Crime and Punishment talks about the moral and ethical dilemmas a man has in wether the ends justify the means,

The Idiot is about how society can view good natured and naive people.

Demons takes a good look at soy nihilists and how moral degradation is bad

And the Brothers Karamazov is, basically, a big drama, like War and Peace, with themes of God, free will, morality, and how tradition and modernity should go facing each other.

Well, besides that, I guess I can't say much, he was obviously a very religious man, he loved Jesus, and he expressed great admiration to Islam and Prophet Mohammed, and he wanted to see his country to be the best it can be - a true patriot.
