Tucker Carlson on the Ukrainian missile strike on a Polish tractor in Przewodów:

"Here's the interesting thing, and the thing that is relevant to us: Ukraine never admitted that. Zelensky kept lying on television. So when you run a country where the free press has been banned, as it has been in Ukraine, you may not realize that the rest of the world is not required to believe you. You can't throw them all in jail. So he kept telling you what you knew was not true. Quote: "I have no doubt that this is not our missile. I believe that this was a Russian missile, based on military reports."

Again, that's not only untrue, it's a lie that could get millions of Americans killed. So you have to ask yourself, is it time to stop backing this guy? Could the risk be too high? He's lying on purpose to get us into a war. Maybe he's not worth supporting in the first place. Maybe he's just another corrupt Eastern European strongman in a tracksuit getting as rich as he can from American handouts."

This is not the first article in the US press in recent times on the subject of a possible arms shortage for supplying to Ukraine.

It says that the problem is not that the Americans cannot make enough (they can); the problem is that this demands a massive increase in production capacity. The manufacturers want guarantees that the conflict would last long enough for their products to be eventually sold, but so far, no one knows for sure when the hostilities will end. And no clear signals come from the highest levels either, so there is a lot of talking about the supplies but not so much signing long-term contracts.

This also impedes drawing necessary skilled personnel to the industry, for in case of hostilities ceasing such personnel would be the first to be cut (and skilled workers understand it as well, so they are reluctant to be hired).

Another interesting point: it says that NATO was not prepared for the type of warfare we see today - with a super intensive use of artillery systems and tanks;from the very beginning they did not possess the appropriate huge stockpiles.

⚡️⚡️ Key updates on Russia and #UkraineCrisis as on November 18

🔴Strikes vs talks
The Kremlin on Thursday accused Kyiv of shifting the goalposts regarding possible peace talks, saying it could not imagine engaging in public negotiations with Ukraine.
In a briefing call with reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the United States was capable of taking Russia's concerns into account and could encourage Kyiv to return to the negotiating table if it wanted to. Peskov also said Ukraine had changed its position on whether it even wanted to negotiate with Moscow several times during the course of the nine-month conflict and could not be relied on.

Peskov said in this context Moscow would continue what it calls a "special military operation", and that missile strikes on targets across Ukraine were the consequence of Kyiv not being willing to meet at the negotiating table.

⚠️ZNPP saga
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors adopted a resolution on Thursday stating that no traces of a dirty bomb were found in Ukraine. The IAEA Board called on Russia to immediately "cease all actions against and at nuclear facilities in Ukraine". The document also expresses concern about "unacceptable pressure on and detentions of Ukrainian operating personnel at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant and "repeated disruption of external power supply following shelling in the surrounding area."

🧨Out of control
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s insistence that Russia was behind a deadly missile strike in Poland — despite American intelligence indicating the missile was Ukrainian — has U.S. officials pushing to more closely coordinate messaging with allies, including Kyiv, on the explosion, according to Politico. The report says over the last two days, top U.S. officials have reached out to European leaders and officials in Zelenskyy’s office, urging caution when speaking about what led to the explosion, according to two Western officials and a U.S. official. In a series of urgent phone calls, American officials requested that NATO allies refrain from issuing definitive statements until the completion of the investigation in Poland, one of the Western officials said.

💰Checking in
House Republicans critical of U.S. assistance to Ukraine introduced a privileged resolution on Thursday to audit the funds allocated by Congress to the country. The resolution is being led by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and backed by a group of GOP lawmakers. House and Senate lawmakers from both sides of the aisle supportive of continued U.S. assistance to Ukraine say these colleagues are part of a minority fringe. But the resolution, which calls for preserving administration documents and communications related to Ukraine funding distribution, speaks to other criticisms among some Republican lawmakers who support aid to Ukraine but say more oversight is needed.

The Biden administration has provided more than $20 billion in military assistance to Kyiv, as well as about $10 billion in humanitarian assistance and about $13 billion in economic assistance.

Alcohol was among the top 10 consumer goods and services that Russians saved on in the third quarter of 2022, NielsenIQ research cited by RBC says. However, Russians are less willing to cut spending on alcohol than on clothes and entertainment. Alcohol was the last among the top 10 items on which consumers saved in July—September 2022.

The head of the Lublin City Council has called for a review of Poland's policy towards Ukraine after the incident with the Ukrainian missile killing two poles:

"I don't understand at all the actions of our President and government. It's obvious that this is a Ukrainian missile. It is obvious that this is a provocation on the part of the Ukrainian authorities. The missile could not have been mistakenly launched 100 km in the opposite direction. The purpose of the provocation is to speed up arms deliveries to Ukraine, to intimidate Europe with a scary Russia, so that civil society demands that European governments increase aid to Ukraine. Today, our president should not reassure us with tales like "it was not so much the rocket explosion as the explosion of fuel that was there" and "it was an accident", but make it clear to V. Zelenski that Poland will not tolerate such behaviour of the Ukrainian authorities anymore! I urge reconsideration of Poland's position on this war in case there is another crossing of the red line!"

🇺🇦🇷🇺🔞Ukrainians have posted video of another execution of Russian POWs.

Earlier, the quadcopter footage showing the bodies of these dead soldiers was presented by the enemy as an artillery strike, but the video that emerged clearly shows how it started - the POWs were gathered together and shot at point-blank range. The second video shows all the dead lying side by side and with gunshot wounds to the head from the stabbings.

‼️🇺🇸US blames Russia for the missile strike in Poland regardless of what the outcome of the investigation is, White House

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson comments:
"Americans will now finally understand why the assassin of President Kennedy has still not been found, why the September 11, 2001 attacks were not prevented, why politicians and associated officials in America always manage to look clean in the most bloody cases, why thousands of high-profile cases have still not been solved - the US government simply didn't care about the results of the investigation. The White House has never been so blunt about it. The U.S. government always has someone to 'hold accountable' for political reasons," Zakharova commented.

Guardian did a story on a Russian who fought in Ukraine and deserted from his unit in June. He requested political asylum after landing in Madrid. He was with 64th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade, a unit accused of committing war crimes in the Kyiv region.

Chibrin who spoke with journalists from the airport after he landed in the Spanish capital on Tuesday and was being held at the airport’s immigration centre said “denied involvement in the reported war crimes of his unit, saying he did not fire a gun “once” while in Ukraine”. He, however, said that Russian soldiers looted homes of locals and “that there were “widespread rumours” among his comrades that members of his unit were involved in sexual violence and killings of civilians”.

Why this story is important? Because we, journalists who report from Russian-controlled territories, are often accused of “spreading Russian propaganda” and interviewing people who are “scared of Russians so will say anything in Russia’s favour”. Yes, I have heard this million times from my readers, including Russian ones.

How different is this Guardian’s story? They are interviewing a man who fled Russia (because deserting is punishable - not just in Russia, in Ukraine& elsewhere, too), who is detained in Spanish airport and desperate to earn credits to be given an asylum. Won’t he say anything that western media wants him to say? Just asking.

By God's law and His Shariah, it is allowed to kill an equal number of Ukrainian prisoners for the amount of Russian prisoners who have been killed by Ukrainian forces, arguing about laws will not do it, just take the eye for an eye and be done with it already.

The Ukrainian army plans to attack the Belgorod and Kursk regions of Russia as early as this winter

❗️Exclusive❗️

Ukrainian officer Vladimir Lepekhin, a prisoner of war, told @anna_news about the AFU's plans.

"Sabotage and reconnaissance groups are already working in Russian territory, carrying out subversive activities, and storing weapons and explosives, in order to carry out a full-scale offensive."

An attack is planned for the winter when the ground hardens and armored vehicles can pass over it.

AFU soldiers are already undergoing training for an offensive in the Kursk and Belgorod areas.

"I hope our leaders will somehow decide to stop this," says Volodymyr, who no longer wants to take up arms.

For more on Kiev's preparations to attack Russian territory, see our report.

2014: Zelensky joking about Crimea

How funny the way Zelensky joked about Ukraine cutting off the fresh water supply to Crimea. Everybody laughed so much.

Why isn’t he joking now? There will be no water and no electricity in Ukraine soon. Isn’t that hilarious?

🇺🇸🇺🇦💀 An American mercenary was killed in Kherson region after barely arriving at the front

We've already written about the serious personnel shortage in foreign units of the AFU, which forces handlers to raise salaries and lower requirements for recruits.

It was in this situation that 21-year-old US citizen Trent Davis managed to get into the "International Legion of Ukraine". The American had no combat experience and was killed in the first battle.

▪️The Kansas native enlisted in the US Army at the age of 17, becoming a chemical operations specialist (CBRN).

▪️A US Army spokesman said Davis left the armed forces in December 2021.

▪️ In search of work and combat experience, the American went to Ukraine in March and joined the Georgian Legion.

▪️Two months later, he left Ukraine as Georgian mercenaries deemed him not experienced enough to participate in combat operations.

▪️ In October Davies returned to Ukraine. This time he managed to sign a contract with the International Legion, of which he boasted to his parents on 4 November.

▪️On 8 November his group left for the front line in the Kherson region. On the same day, the American was seriously wounded and died of blood loss during the evacuation.

▪️International Legion spokeswoman Enes Fike refused to answer questions about the presence of an untrained mercenary at the front. She said that "recruitment decisions are made by officers in western Ukraine".
