Lavrov's statements at the G20 summit:

🔹Despite US statements at the G20 summit, other countries are increasingly convinced that the conflict in Ukraine was instigated by Washington;

🔹The US and the EU handed the UN secretary-general written promises that restrictions on Russian grain and fertilizer exports would be lifted; let's see how that's implemented;

🔹Ukraine's conditions for starting negotiations are knowingly unrealistic and inadequate to the situation;

🔹Russia does not refuse to negotiate with Ukraine;

🔹The EU and NATO have long been parties to the hybrid war in Ukraine.

Zelensky announces 10 conditions for "Ukrainian peace formula" at the G20 summit:

Ukraine's radiation and nuclear security,
Food security of Ukraine,
Energy security of Ukraine,
Release of all prisoners and deportees - exchange of all for all,
Implementation of the UN Charter and restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity and the world order,
Withdrawal of Russian troops and cessation of hostilities,
Restoration of justice,
Countering ecocide,
Preventing escalation,
Setting the end of the war.

NATO's political technologists, however, almost blew the whistle on the demand to "restore world order", and the rest of the points are just ridiculous.

Zelensky himself was asking, above all, to get Ukrainian grain out of the country, to create a nuclear bomb and to engage in undermining the infrastructure. And Zelensky is hardly even aware of the meaning of "justice"!

⚡️⚡️ Key updates on Russia and #UkraineCrisis as on November 17

🇺🇦🇷🇺Peace talks
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated during interaction with reporters that negotiations with Russia should be "public, not behind the scenes." He confirmed that he had received certain signals from the leaders of other countries regarding possible negotiations with the Russian side (Earlier, the Wall Street Journal, citing its sources, reported that Jake Sullivan, the US National Security Advisor, recommended that Volodymyr Zelenskyy's team start thinking about realistic requirements for negotiations with the Russian Federation, including a review of Ukraine's stated goal of returning Crimea). Zelenskystressed that Kyiv had demonstrated its readiness to sit down at the negotiating table, and said that it had been notified of a similar readiness on the part of the Russian Federation.

Kremlin reacts
The spokesperson of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov commented on the US statement that regardless of the results of the investigation of the Poland incident, Russia is to be blamed. “Whatever the final conclusions may be, it is clear that the party ultimately responsible for this tragic incident is Russia, which launched a barrage of missiles on Ukraine specifically intended to target civilian infrastructure,” the statement reads.

Peskov said that in this case, it can be stated that the root cause of everything is NATO and the United States. "Americans speak in the paradigm of "if that didn’t happen, then this wouldn’t happen. Then it makes sense to backtrack, and we will see the root cause of everything — it is NATO and the United States at the helm of it,” Peskov told RIA Novosti.

🛢Oil trade on hold
Indian refiners are wary of buying Russia crude oil loading after Dec. 5 when European Union sanctions take effect, pending clarity on the proposed G7 price cap mechanism, according to sources familiar with the refiners' crude purchase plans, Reuters reports. It states Reliance Industries Ltd, operator of the world's biggest refining complex and a major customer for Russia, has not placed orders yet for Russian cargoes loading after Dec. 5, two sources familiar the refiner's purchase plans told Reuters. Neither has state-run Bharat Petroleum Corp (both companies did not respond to Reuters email seeking comments).

🌾Grain deal
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said an agreement with Russia that has allowed Ukraine to export its massive stocks of cereals by sea is likely to keep running once its first phase comes to an end on Saturday. "We have ongoing discussions and as of now I am of the opinion that this [the deal] will continue," Erdoğan told reporters in Bali, Indonesia. The Turkish leader added that Russian President Vladimir Putin gave him "some green light" on the prospects of renewing the deal when they spoke recently.

📮Russia post goes delivery
After international courier services terminated operations in Russia, some Russian retailers and manufacturers faced difficulties in supplying small batches or samples of products from abroad. State-owned Russian Post has decided to launch its commercial delivery service from China and Europe, Kommersant reports. Experts believe such a service is particularly relevant for small and medium-sized businesses. However, Russia Post will face difficulties created by Western sanctions against Russian carriers and problems with payments via SWIFT.

How Ukraine produced happy gatherings in Kherson.

In the video filmed by "France press agency" the excited alleged Kherson citizen states that there is no light, no water, no communications, but he is very happy that he is liberated from the Russians.

The man is recognized as a Mr. Pondin Evgeny Nikolayevich, living in Kiev. Evgeny is a commander of a National Guard company (military unit 3030). Perhaps he arrived in Kherson to conduct repressions. And he acted in western videos as well.

For all the Ukrainians on the front line, the American New York Times ran a motivational article: "The war in Ukraine is a beta test for Western weapons".

At first we even thought of writing about American cynicism, but it turns out the article quotes Ukrainian deputy PM, Mikhail Fedorov.

"Ukraine is the best proving ground, as we have the opportunity to test all innovations in combat and come up with revolutionary changes in military technology and modern warfare."

And a little further on there is this from Dalia Grybauskaite:

"We are learning how to fight in Ukraine and learning how to use NATO equipment. And, yes, this is a training ground." And after a pause (so the text says) she added: "Too bad the Ukrainians are paying with their lives for this training of ours."

The Ukrainian soldiers must have thought that they were dying for independence, and now the American press, and their own officials, are explaining to them that they are as expendable as landfill.

The European Union must create its own military force by 2023

We are talking about a "rapid reaction force" — the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell stated.

The first "defense concept" of the European Union was approved back in March.

It includes creating common European military groups which will be able to conduct military operations independently and which will "complement NATO".

New international scandal, UN has documented torture of Russian war prisoners in Ukraine

UN received true reports showing that Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine may have been subjected to executions — Farhan Haq stated, Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General.

"Concerning prisoners of war, imprisoned by the authorities of Ukraine, Bagner reported that the mission has received credible allegations of summary executions of persons hors de combat and several cases of torture and ill-treatment" — Mr. Haq said in the briefing.

Today, Matilda Bogner, the head of the Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, said that over the past several months, the Monitoring Mission interviewed 175 prisoners of war held by Ukraine.

Some cases of torture, beating and ill-treatment were documented. According to the gathered data torture happened mostly when prisoners of war were captured, first interrogated, or moved to transit camps and places of internment. In some cases, they said they were punched and kicked in the face and body after surrendering and again when they were interrogated.

"In several cases, Russian POWs said they were stabbed or given electric shocks with the ‘TAPik’ phone by Ukrainian law enforcement officers or military personnel guarding them".

Ms. Bogner emphasized the fundamental obligation of states to treat all prisoners of war humanely from the moment they were captured until their release and repatriation, and to allocate sufficient resources to ensure implementation of this obligation.

US Representative for Arizona Paul Gosar (who previously invited Putin and Zelensky to hold peace talks in his state in October):

"I will vote NO to any additional funding to Ukraine.

Enough is enough. I will not stand for this corrupt money-laundering operation".

An unknown user with a Ukrainian flag:

"You're obviously a Russian asset, totally compromised and unfit to serve, same as Donald Trump. Resign, face prosecution, get sentenced and go to jail. That's our plan for you, Paul. You betrayed your oath. You're a traitor."

So the American congressman from Arizona betrayed this Ukrainian's national interests... 🤔

These are words coming from Ukrainian kids. Kiev regime is teaching everyone to hate everything Russian from the childhood. There are even children camps where they teach young Ukrainians to fight, to hate Russian language and Russian-speaking people and to glorify Nazi murderers of WWII. Watch the difference between children of Donbass and kids growing by the politics of Kiev authorities in the video.

On November 15 a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile hit a five-storey block of apartments in central Kiev as their air defense attempted to shoot down Russian cruise missiles. One woman was reported killed.

Tragic as this event is, we have to keep in mind that this was the only reported casualty, despite about one hundred rockets and an unnamed number of Geraniums launched by Russia. The Russian strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure have surgical precision, and are are not aimed at terrorist killing of civilians. Unlike Ukraine's shelling of Donetsk, which usually causes dozens of casualties.

We also have to keep in mind that the tragedy would not have occurred if the air defense system was not hidden in a dense residential area of the Ukrainian capital. The AFU hides its air defenses in the city, because this makes them harder to identify and destroy.

Knocking down a missile over the city means that it is almost 100% certain to fall on residential buildings or civilian infrastructure where people are present: hospitals, shopping centers, kindergartens, etc. But the AFU routinely shoots missiles down over residential areas, having missed them outside the city, and not caring about the safety of the city's residents.

Zelensky's office is well aware of the risks involved, but it is more important for them to preserve an air defense system than several dozen civilian lives.

Tucker Carlson on the Ukrainian missile strike on a Polish tractor in Przewodów:

"Here's the interesting thing, and the thing that is relevant to us: Ukraine never admitted that. Zelensky kept lying on television. So when you run a country where the free press has been banned, as it has been in Ukraine, you may not realize that the rest of the world is not required to believe you. You can't throw them all in jail. So he kept telling you what you knew was not true. Quote: "I have no doubt that this is not our missile. I believe that this was a Russian missile, based on military reports."

Again, that's not only untrue, it's a lie that could get millions of Americans killed. So you have to ask yourself, is it time to stop backing this guy? Could the risk be too high? He's lying on purpose to get us into a war. Maybe he's not worth supporting in the first place. Maybe he's just another corrupt Eastern European strongman in a tracksuit getting as rich as he can from American handouts."

This is not the first article in the US press in recent times on the subject of a possible arms shortage for supplying to Ukraine.

It says that the problem is not that the Americans cannot make enough (they can); the problem is that this demands a massive increase in production capacity. The manufacturers want guarantees that the conflict would last long enough for their products to be eventually sold, but so far, no one knows for sure when the hostilities will end. And no clear signals come from the highest levels either, so there is a lot of talking about the supplies but not so much signing long-term contracts.

This also impedes drawing necessary skilled personnel to the industry, for in case of hostilities ceasing such personnel would be the first to be cut (and skilled workers understand it as well, so they are reluctant to be hired).

Another interesting point: it says that NATO was not prepared for the type of warfare we see today - with a super intensive use of artillery systems and tanks;from the very beginning they did not possess the appropriate huge stockpiles.

⚡️⚡️ Key updates on Russia and #UkraineCrisis as on November 18

🔴Strikes vs talks
The Kremlin on Thursday accused Kyiv of shifting the goalposts regarding possible peace talks, saying it could not imagine engaging in public negotiations with Ukraine.
In a briefing call with reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the United States was capable of taking Russia's concerns into account and could encourage Kyiv to return to the negotiating table if it wanted to. Peskov also said Ukraine had changed its position on whether it even wanted to negotiate with Moscow several times during the course of the nine-month conflict and could not be relied on.

Peskov said in this context Moscow would continue what it calls a "special military operation", and that missile strikes on targets across Ukraine were the consequence of Kyiv not being willing to meet at the negotiating table.

⚠️ZNPP saga
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors adopted a resolution on Thursday stating that no traces of a dirty bomb were found in Ukraine. The IAEA Board called on Russia to immediately "cease all actions against and at nuclear facilities in Ukraine". The document also expresses concern about "unacceptable pressure on and detentions of Ukrainian operating personnel at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant and "repeated disruption of external power supply following shelling in the surrounding area."

🧨Out of control
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s insistence that Russia was behind a deadly missile strike in Poland — despite American intelligence indicating the missile was Ukrainian — has U.S. officials pushing to more closely coordinate messaging with allies, including Kyiv, on the explosion, according to Politico. The report says over the last two days, top U.S. officials have reached out to European leaders and officials in Zelenskyy’s office, urging caution when speaking about what led to the explosion, according to two Western officials and a U.S. official. In a series of urgent phone calls, American officials requested that NATO allies refrain from issuing definitive statements until the completion of the investigation in Poland, one of the Western officials said.

💰Checking in
House Republicans critical of U.S. assistance to Ukraine introduced a privileged resolution on Thursday to audit the funds allocated by Congress to the country. The resolution is being led by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and backed by a group of GOP lawmakers. House and Senate lawmakers from both sides of the aisle supportive of continued U.S. assistance to Ukraine say these colleagues are part of a minority fringe. But the resolution, which calls for preserving administration documents and communications related to Ukraine funding distribution, speaks to other criticisms among some Republican lawmakers who support aid to Ukraine but say more oversight is needed.

The Biden administration has provided more than $20 billion in military assistance to Kyiv, as well as about $10 billion in humanitarian assistance and about $13 billion in economic assistance.

Alcohol was among the top 10 consumer goods and services that Russians saved on in the third quarter of 2022, NielsenIQ research cited by RBC says. However, Russians are less willing to cut spending on alcohol than on clothes and entertainment. Alcohol was the last among the top 10 items on which consumers saved in July—September 2022.

The head of the Lublin City Council has called for a review of Poland's policy towards Ukraine after the incident with the Ukrainian missile killing two poles:

"I don't understand at all the actions of our President and government. It's obvious that this is a Ukrainian missile. It is obvious that this is a provocation on the part of the Ukrainian authorities. The missile could not have been mistakenly launched 100 km in the opposite direction. The purpose of the provocation is to speed up arms deliveries to Ukraine, to intimidate Europe with a scary Russia, so that civil society demands that European governments increase aid to Ukraine. Today, our president should not reassure us with tales like "it was not so much the rocket explosion as the explosion of fuel that was there" and "it was an accident", but make it clear to V. Zelenski that Poland will not tolerate such behaviour of the Ukrainian authorities anymore! I urge reconsideration of Poland's position on this war in case there is another crossing of the red line!"
