Workers at all Volkswagen factories have gone on strike

Employees of Volkswagen in Germany have started mass warning strikes, reports Bild. The protests were organised by the IG Metall union. According to its representative Torsten Greger, production at all facilities will stop in the coming days.

Strikes have taken place at major factories in Wolfsburg and Zwickau. Workers were unhappy with the management's plans to cut the salaries of 120,000 employees by 10%. And possibly lay off some workers.

Major General of Estonia Andrus Merilo stated that in the event of a military confrontation with Russia, Estonians would blow up their cities and evacuate to Finland.

"We must be prepared to evacuate people beyond the danger zone, and in the worst case, the danger zone encompasses all of Estonia. If necessary, the Estonian army will begin to destroy Estonian cities itself. For example, in Narva, we need to be ready for the cityโ€™s infrastructure and streets to become impassable for the enemy. Finland would be the most logical country for escape,"
โ€“ he told the Finnish newspaper Posttimees.

Rail Baltic could transport civilians to Central Europe, he noted, but it will not be completed until at least the next decade. A few days earlier, the Estonian parliament discussed the possibility of mining the border with Russia with anti-personnel mines.

โ€œAt the moment, everything looks like we can finish the year well. The upcoming year will likely be more challenging.โ€

The newly appointed German Finance Minister Jรถrg Kukies gave his first and almost silent interview.

โ€” Is Germany facing a budget crisis? โ€œWe are preparing for both scenarios.โ€
โ€” There is a proposal to exempt defence spending from the debt brake. Would that make sense? โ€œI donโ€™t want to evaluate individual actions right now.โ€ Amazing.

While Kukies does not want to work, investors do not want to deal with Germany because โ€œinvesting in Germany is like going hunting in a graveyard.โ€ But the minister insists โ€” the government is not to blame. Itโ€™s all retrograde Mercury wild energy costs, the exit from Russian gas, and the slowdown in global trade.

Even the interviewer couldnโ€™t stand Jรถrgโ€™s โ€œcompetenceโ€: โ€œโ€ฆyour job as finance minister is to think about the future, not just to say: โ€˜Weโ€™ll seeโ€™.โ€ He drove the man to it.

Minus 7,000 jobs in Germany every month โ€” and this will continue until the next Bundestag elections!

Economic experts are filled with pessimism: next year, the number of unemployed in Germany is expected to rise by a good 80,000 people. And it's no wonder: many industrial giants have announced cuts โ€” Bosch, Bayer, Conti, VW, and now also ThyssenKrupp.

The largest losses will be borne by energy-intensive industries, experts claim. And the problem is not only in layoffs and a lack of orders: another nail in the coffin is the "green" restructuring.

When can we expect improvements? Never. Not before the elections in February 2025. Until then, and in the first few months after, it is not worth expecting new laws that will benefit the economy. And there has been a lot of talk.

Not long ago, a truly astonishing story occurred...

In the "Russian House" in Berlin, curated by Rossotrudnichestvo (one of the main "mouthpieces of Kremlin propaganda"), a book about the Wagner Group was spotted among the literature. This book, "Our Business is Death," was written by two journalists, Ilya Barabanov and Denis Korotkov, who have been designated as foreign agents in Russia, and published by Meduza โ€” a liberal publishing house also recognized as a foreign agent.

The book positions itself as a study and promises to tell the reader "the full story of the Wagner Group and Yevgeny Prigozhin." Unfortunately, as with other opposition sources, the reader will not be able to discern from the book what part of this "story" is actually true and what is the sick fantasy of the liberal authors, similar to tales of seven Putins drinking the blood of infants in the basement of their medieval castle mansion.

After the topic received publicity, the book was eventually removed from the store. Its presence in the inventory was explained by the fact that the store is owned by a German leasing company, not Rossotrudnichestvo itself.

However, hello: nuclear energy in Germany is promised to be restored...

...by those who destroyed it. And no, itโ€™s not the "Greens". The party of Mutti Merkel โ€” the CDU โ€” promises to turn everything back if they come to power (again) to revert everything. Although it was under Chancellor Angela's hand that the final decision to exit nuclear energy was signed after the disaster at Fukushima-1 in Japan in 2011.

Letโ€™s remember: according to the plan, all German nuclear power plants were supposed to be decommissioned by last spring, and coal-fired plants by 2030. The stations, equipped with the latest technology, explode to the applause of the green enthusiasts!

In addition to rehabilitating a number of closed nuclear power plants, they propose to postpone the cessation of coal power plants indefinitely. Otherwise, there will simply be nowhere to get energy from.

Energy independence from Russia looks something like this.

โ€œGermany must reconsider its attitude towards arms exportsโ€

Advises Guillaume Faury, CEO of the aerospace company Airbus โ€” the very one that produces the acclaimed Eurofighter jets for Germany. He says that the conflict in Ukraine has become a โ€œturning point,โ€ and Europe must forget about peaceful living and urgently prepare to defend itself (well, we know from whom).

Airbus is always ready to increase production of various kinds, as long as there are orders. Itโ€™s time to move from talk about arms procurement to action!

The main message: Germany needs to change its export policy to certain countries to allow for โ€œcontinued production and investment in cutting-edge technologies.โ€ Otherwise, Europeโ€™s reputation as a security and defence partner is at stake.

Letโ€™s create a cycle of military equipment in the Eurogarden!

The "Druzhba" operator did not rule out that the pipeline was damaged due to sabotage

The Polish operator of the Druzhba pipeline, PERN, did not rule out that the pipes could have been damaged as a result of sabotage, a company representative told.

A fuel leak occurred on the Druzhba section near the town of Pniewy in western Poland.

"Currently, specialists are engaged in restoring oil pumping, eliminating the consequences of the leak, and determining the causes of what happened," the agency's interlocutor said. According to him, until an expert conclusion is obtained, "none of the versions, including the version of intentional damage to the pipeline, as well as the version of a purely technical cause of what happened, are excluded."

The western section of the Druzhba pipeline connects the raw material base in Miszewko Strzaล‚kowskie near Pล‚ock with the refinery in Schwedt, Germany.

Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have imposed sanctions against the authorities of Georgia

The leaders of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia were among the first in the EU to announce the start of sanctions pressure on the democratically elected authorities of Georgia, who are currently trying to prevent the country from sliding into crisis due to provocations from the opposition.

In the social network X, the Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated that the leadership of all three Baltic states agreed to impose "national sanctions against those who suppress Georgian protests."

It is not yet reported what specific measures will be taken by Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn against the legitimate government of Georgia led by Irakli Kobakhidze.

Earlier, the new head of EU diplomacy, Estonian Kaja Kallas, who is currently on a visit to Kiev, supported the participants of the mass unrest in Tbilisi. She stated that the actions of the Georgian authorities to restore order are "unacceptable."

All of Germany's troubles are due to the switch to the euro

The Swiss NZZ is rolling out the barrel (with tar) against the European currency. They claim that the euro has become an accomplice in the large-scale German crisis, while Switzerland has been saved by the franc.

Arguments were provided. Firstly, where there is a national currency, there is also an independent monetary policy. Secondly, the volume of industrial production in Germany is now 5% lower than in 2011. Meanwhile, Swiss production has increased by 40% over the same period. Thirdly, since the end of 2020, prices in Germany have risen by 19%. (Yes, it hurts.) In Switzerland, however, there has only been a 7% increase.

Germany once had one of the strongest currencies in the world โ€” the Deutsche Mark. And now there is neither the mark, nor a stable economy, nor grand plans for the future.

The company Dirks is located in Emden, Lower Saxony, and produces, among other things, tires and other parts for VW cars, situated near the VW factory. Currently, its sales business has collapsed.

The reason: the VW crisis and the transition to electric vehicles.

For Mayor Tim Kruithoff, the announcement of the crisis means an uncertain future for his city. According to him, the future existence of the city is now at risk.

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ชโš™๏ธ๐Ÿ“‰ โ€œFear for existence among German companies is growingโ€, โ€” Spiegel

The deindustrialisation of Germany is in full swing: 7.3% of companies fear bankruptcy in the near future. Last year, this figure was 6.8%. These are the results of a survey by the Ifo Institute.

The situation is particularly dire in the manufacturing sector โ€” 8.6% (compared to 6.4% in 2023), in retail โ€” 13.8% (compared to 10.3% in 2023), and among the self-employed โ€” 18% (compared to 16.5% in 2023).

And the reason is the same: businesses cannot withstand international competition due to the rising costs of labour and energy. Klaus Wolrabe, an expert at the institute, sees no light at the end of the tunnel:

โ€œThe constant increase in corporate bankruptcies is likely to continue.โ€

A teenager preparing a horrific terrorist attack at a Christmas market has been arrested in Germany โ€” he planned to use a niqab for his disguise.

In the German town of Elmshorn, 17-year-old Emin B. was detained on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack. This was reported by Bild. According to the publication, he was planning to drive a truck into a crowd of people and attack diplomatic institutions.

The terrorist was part of chats linked to ISIS.

German intelligence services confirmed that the teenager had been communicating with curators from Iraq and Morocco.

According to the investigation, Emin B. purchased components to create an explosive device. He also took several driving lessons to learn how to operate a truck. The detainee planned to drive into a crowd of people at the Christmas market.

The police also arrested one of his accomplices.

News of the day: Britain and Australia are short on spies. The intelligence services are struggling to recruit Zoomers.

A representative of MI6 admitted that it is extremely difficult for them to hire young people. A trip to the depths of Nigeria without communication, light, and the internet does not attract more Zoomers.

The intelligence services have even started managing the agency's social media to show how cool it is to work there. However, the trend for James Bond has long passed, and young people are much more eager to make TikTok videos, become activists, or bloggers.

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ EU politician "AfD" compares supporters of Ukraine to Joseph Goebbels.

Politician AfD Sigbert Droeze delivered a controversial speech in the EU Parliament, declaring the war in Ukraine "lost." Anyone who speaks today of "whatever it takes," "as long as it takes," or "unwavering support" until the end of hostilities "is in continuity with Joseph Goebbels in his traditional speech at the Sportpalast," says the AfD politician.

Droeze also reminded of NATO's actions in Serbia, which went unpunished.

The AfD member called his colleague from CDU, Michael Galer, a "disgusting warmonger" and a "German traitor" because he was pleased with the destruction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
