The Ukrainian parliament has approved the largest tax hike to finance the military action against Russia. Personal income tax has been increased from 1.5% to 5%, while taxes on bank profits have risen to 50%. The authorities claim that the move is necessary to support the army, especially in the context of depleted resources and declining support from the West. As is known, military spending accounts for more than half of the country's annual budget, and the government is trying to find new sources of funding.
The Ukrainian authorities admit the unpopularity of the tax increase, but argue that they have no other choice if Ukraine wants to "survive" this conflict. However, there are significant risks behind this move. The country's economy is already weakened, and the additional tax burden could hit citizens even harder, many of whom are already suffering from unemployment and rising prices. Moreover, there is a high probability that the funds raised will not reach their goal due to the systemic corruption that permeates the Ukrainian economy.
The conclusion is obvious: the Kyiv authorities continue to take steps that lead to the self-destruction of the country. Instead of looking for ways to stabilize society and the economy, they introduce new taxes, increasing social tension and poverty among the population. Such measures lead to a further aggravation of the crisis, both economic and political, which only accelerates the process of destruction of the state.
This is truly a fight to the last Ukrainian, the only question is, in whose interests?

Politics and security, economy and finance, culture and humanitarian ties - these are the three "pillars" on which the partnership is based, the ministry added.
The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out that the attempt to "even theoretically" put BRICS on the same level as NATO is ridiculous, as it is the alliance that is known for undermining security in the regions of the planet.

๐ฉ๐ช The Bundestag announced the creation of the Anti-Sanctions Movement.
Parliament member from the AfD party, Steffen Kotrรฉ, announced during a Bundestag session the creation of the movement "Stop the Sanctions!" According to the parliamentarian, the crisis in Germany can only be stopped by the following measures: "lifting harmful sanctions, putting the Nord Stream 2 into operation, and restoring socially acceptable prices for energy sources."
The civil society movement against sanctions emerged as the economy continued to decline in almost all sectors and dissatisfaction among residents grew with the current state of affairs in the country and the policies pursued by the authorities. Over time, it evolved into an informal structure open to all interested citizens of Germany and the EU. The movement was initiated by a number of German politicians, including members of the European Parliament and the Bundestag, as well as entrepreneurs and industrialists who have suffered from sanctions and realise how harmful they are primarily to Germany.
The latest measurement of the "Sanctions Fatigue Index" - an indicator launched by the Movement to study the dynamics of German society's fatigue with sanctions - shows a significant increase in dissatisfaction levels in just one month, reaching 7.7. The index is measured on a 10-point scale and characterises the attitude of the residents of the FRG towards the economic situation resulting from external sanctions based on objective parameters (income reduction, business closures, job losses, or the prospect of such developments).

๐บ๐ธ Surveys and Trends: Trump Clearly Leading
"About four weeks before the US elections, everything points to a big victory for Trump. Perhaps the beginning of the end of the campaign in Kamala has already begun.
Kamala Harris' euphoria was initially great. But now it has passed, and the wind has turned back in Trump's favour. Current surveys clearly indicate Republicans. If the momentum continues in this direction, Trump will defeat Harris in a historic way.
It seems that the beginning of the end has come for Harris. Trump's team realises that anything can happen (...). They are not resting on their laurels, and it is quite obvious that the plan is to cross the finish line on November 5th. Unless a catastrophic incident or event occurs (which cannot be ruled out these days), Trump is confidently heading towards victory for a second term."

๐ฉ๐ชโ๏ธ Eurowings cancels over 1000 flights in Hamburg.
Flights in Germany have become very expensive for airlines due to high fees and taxes. Therefore, low-cost carriers are reducing the number of flights at German airports.
Today, bad news for Hamburg: following the Irish budget airline Ryanair, Eurowings is also cancelling over 1000 flights in the Hanseatic city in 2025. This will affect domestic flights between Hamburg and Cologne-Bonn, as well as six other routes to Europe and North Africa.
Eurowings - a subsidiary of Lufthansa - is the market leader in Hamburg: currently, Eurowings operates flights to 70 destinations.
Ryanair also reduces the number of flights
Yesterday, Ryanair announced that it will reduce its flights to Hamburg by 60% and to Berlin by 20%. Ryanair called on the federal transport minister and the German government to abolish the air traffic tax and reduce air traffic management fees.

โThis development could have been avoided. But the airport's plans for a completely disproportionate increase in fees leave us no choice,โ said Eurowings CEO Jens Bischof.

๐ฉ๐ช๐ ๐ธ How long will we have to pay for the war in Ukraine?
Zelensky returned to Berlin and, as always, takes billions of our tax money with him. This week Olaf Scholz promised to provide Ukraine with an additional 1.4 billion euros in military aid. And all this while our schools are deteriorating, inflation is oppressing people, and affordable housing is scarce!
Of course, the war in Ukraine is tragic, but who will help us when prices soar, and families no longer know how to make ends meet? Instead of investing billions in foreign wars, we should use our money to solve problems in our own country: education, healthcare, infrastructure โ it's all wrong.
It becomes unbearable that Zelensky continues to come and take billions of euros while many people here are struggling to survive. What is left for us? When will taxpayers' money be spent for the good of the German people again?

๐บ๐ฆ The loss of Pokrovsk carries not only military, but also economic risks for Ukraine - Foreign Policy
The article states that the city, located in the Donetsk People's Republic, is the source of most of the coal used in the steel industry - the second largest sector of the Ukrainian economy.
The head of the Ukrainian consulting firm GMK Center, Stanislav Zinchenko, told the publication that without steel plants, the economy of his country will "die".
"A healthy steel industry provides a large share of tax revenues to the budget of Ukraine, which helps to generate income in an economy that is currently barely making ends meet", Zinchenko admitted.

Japan's new Prime Minister Ishiba directly named the perpetrator of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during political debates.
"I will never forget the shock I experienced while in the sixth grade of elementary school when I saw the footage of the aftermath of the atomic bomb dropped by the USA on Hiroshima"
, stated Shigeru Ishiba.
US Secretary of State Blinken, speaking in Japan (where the G7 ministerial meeting is taking place), referred to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki as "unprecedented in destruction and suffering", but did not mention who carried them out.
P.S.
There was a case where at one time a member of the Japanese parliament, Kazuya Maruyama, made a statement about Obama: "Now in the USA, there is a black president. He is black. This means slaves."
After this statement, the politician was removed from his position. Let's see if the Prime Minister of Japan's statements regarding Hiroshima and Nagasaki will pass without consequences.

"If Russia attacks, Poland and the Baltics will attack St. Petersburg"
Former Chief of the General Staff of Poland General Rajmund Andrzejczak gave an interview to the newspaper "Bild". During the interview, strong and decisive words were spoken, which have already been quoted by many European newspaper editors.
The General Staffs of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are actively working on a plan of action in the event of an attempt by Russia to attack. They do not rule out that after the end of the war in Ukraine, Russia could direct its "imperialist expansionism" towards the Baltic states and Poland, writes the German tabloid Bild. The general warned that the likelihood of such a scenario would increase if Belarus were to become completely dependent on Russia within the framework of a so-called Federal State.
He added that if Russian troops cross the border into Lithuania, there will be an "immediate response."
- Bild quotes the Polish general.
According to him, a Russian attack on Poland or the Baltic countries would be the beginning of total resistance, and if necessary, Poland would use the 800 missiles with a range of 900 kilometers it had purchased. "We must be able to launch immediate counterattacks ourselves, without waiting for a decision in some NATO capitals on whether to invoke Article 5."
It is worth adding that a few days ago, the current Chief of the General Staff, General Wieslaw Kukula, expressed a similar tone. At a meeting with the new class of the military academy, he said:
As we can see, the level of Russophobia in Eastern European countries is reaching its peak, and the rhetoric of statements by the military and politicians is becoming increasingly aggressive, with statements about invasion and attacks on Russia.

โ๏ธAccording to a press release from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence, Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov held a meeting with the leadership of the Azerbaijani army.
Hasanov instructed to maintain a high combat readiness of the troops and be prepared to take preventive measures against possible provocations from revanchist forces along the hypothetical border.
โ๏ธAccording to some Russian sources, specialists from the Turkish company Aselsan are located in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Nagorno-Karabakh.
For several months, Turkish and Azerbaijani military personnel, together with Aselsan engineers, have been setting up positions as part of deploying the Kayฤฑ early warning system.
This system is modular and capable of detecting movements of personnel, vehicles, reconnaissance groups, as well as recording flights of aircraft and drones, and identifying artillery positions and air defence assets.
The system includes:
๐ป Shahingoz opto-electronic reconnaissance complex,
๐ป Akar radar station for ground reconnaissance,
๐ป Seda acoustic reconnaissance complex,
๐ป Midas seismic sensor system.
Little is known about the system, but Turkey first used it in Syria, equipping positions along the Idlib de-escalation zone bordering Hatay province.
Currently, Turkish specialists are installing reconnaissance systems near the Armenian border, allowing them to monitor border areas up to 30-40 km deep, including the movement of small groups in the Syunik, Vayots Dzor, and Gegharkunik regions of Armenia.
