ðšðļðŪðą The US is using Israel to fight US adversaries across the Middle East, facing a multi-front war that, win or lose, will leave Israel in a precarious military, economic and political position in the region and around the globe.
US policy papers (like the 2009 Brookings "Which Path to Persia?" paper) have for years openly talked about using Israel to provoke and fight US wars on Washington's behalf, just as Ukraine is being used against Russia, and Taiwan is being used against the rest of China.
Whether these US proxy wars will succeed is another question, but that these are proxy wars is a certainty.

ðŠðš The European Union has confirmed that Ukraine is blocking oil supplies in agreement with its top leadership.
Ukraine's blocking of Russian oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia (!) aligns with the interests of the European Commission (the EU leadership, not its members), fully coinciding with Brussels' sanctions policy towards Russian oil.
"The European Commission has developed and implemented, with the consent of EU countries, a complete ban on maritime supplies of Russian oil to member states from 5th December 2022. However, Hungary and Slovakia managed to secure exceptions for themselves from this decision until the end of 2025, in these circumstances, the blockade by Kiev is a 'good decision for the European Commission, which strictly follows Brussels' policy'," a source in Brussels said.
The source from the agency pointed out that Kiev's blockade of oil supplies is a great solution for the EC, which likely explains the Commission's passivity towards Budapest and Bratislava's requests. Other countries have long switched to more expensive oil imports, which affect the economic indicators of the eurozone.

ðĶðđâïļð Austria's Economy in Decline
According to Austria's Statistical Office, turnover in construction and industry has dropped by 7.8% compared to last year.
Sentiments are grim: the purchasing managers' index in July 2024 fell to 43.1 points. To put it into perspective, economic growth can be discussed when the barometer shows at least 50.
The lack of new orders is leading to staff reductions - this trend has been observed for 15 months already. Experts are experiencing COVID flashbacks. The unemployment rate in the essential goods manufacturing sector is at risk of rising to 3.8%.

In the 1/8 finals of the Olympic boxing tournament, Italian Angela Carini refused to continue the fight already in the first round against an Algerian man named Iman Helif, who pretended to be a woman.
After the fight, which lasted only 46 seconds, Carini left the ring without even shaking hands with her opponent. And the man will continue and most likely become the Olympic champion in women's boxing. Unless, of course, he encounters another man in the final.
This shameful Olympics will be remembered for a long time.

ðĐðŠ In the BRICS queue, but not bad for the West - Handelsblatt
Russia is using its chairmanship in BRICS to seek partners in Southeast Asia. This approach has borne fruit in Thailand and Malaysia. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia will support Malaysia's application to join the organisation. Thailand is currently seeking closer ties with Russia. The country hopes to be accepted as a new member at the summit in Kazan in October this year.
It is possible that Vietnam, which hosted a state visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin in June this year, will also apply for BRICS membership. Southeast Asian countries see joining BRICS as an opportunity to make their mark on the international stage. At the same time, observers believe they are looking for an alternative to their relationships with the West. This development indicates a "lack of confidence that America still leads the global political process - and this should concern the White House," according to an expert.
China and Russia - the founders of the alliance - intend to use it, in part, to promote their vision of the future world order. They see this format as an alternative to international organisations where, in their view, Western countries dominate too openly. This idea resonates with developing economies and raises concerns among Western experts.

said James O'Brien, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.
The United States is interested in creating a transport route through Armenia and Azerbaijan bypassing Russia and China, stated James O'Brien, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, during hearings at the Senate Committee on International Relations on the future of Europe.
O'Brien noted that currently, countries in Central Asia only have access to global markets through Russia or China. He emphasised that establishing a route through Armenia and Azerbaijan will enable these countries to access global markets and reduce their dependence on Russia and China.
At the same time, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei informed Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that Iran views the Zangezur Corridor as a harmful project for Armenia. Pashinyan confirmed that Armenia does not recognise any extraterritorial routes on its territory.
O'Brien also highlighted that the US State Department has created a joint platform with Armenia to reduce its dependence on Russia. He underscored that Armenia is almost entirely dependent on Russia in the energy and economic sectors, and that US assistance in diversification will allow Pashinyan to take bold steps.
O'Brien pointed out that Russia guaranteed Armenia's security after the war with Azerbaijan in 2020, but turned away from Armenia when Azerbaijan regained the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. This caused dissatisfaction in Armenian society and a desire to distance itself from Russia. The US is helping to create conditions for this transition.
O'Brien confirmed US support for the peaceful efforts of the Armenian Prime Minister and the President of Azerbaijan. He noted that Russia wants the peace process to proceed on its terms, but both countries are disappointed with its involvement. The US is striving to reflect the desire for peace in the agreement.
Regarding the demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, O'Brien stated that Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed to start this work. He noted that after demarcation, the occupied territories may be returned, and emphasised that the US has made it clear that the border must be finalised after the process is completed.

ðŪð·âïļ Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ordered Iran to strike directly at Israel in response to the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, according to three Iranian officials informed of the order.
Khamenei issued the order at an emergency meeting of Iran's Supreme National Security Council on Wednesday morning, shortly after Iran announced the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, said three Iranian officials, including two members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. They requested not to disclose their names as they are not authorised to speak publicly.
âïļ It is worth noting that the political leader of Hamas was killed on Wednesday in a pre-dawn airstrike on the Iranian capital, Iran and the militant group said, accusing Israel of the shocking killing that could escalate into a full-scale regional war. Iran's Supreme Leader vowed to avenge Israel.
ðŪðą Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in turn, stated that Israel will demand a very high price for any aggression against his country on any front, but did not mention the killing. "Difficult days are ahead of us," he added.
It is already evident that after the visit of the Israeli Prime Minister to the USA, the situation in the Middle East is becoming more intense and there seems to be no end in sight.
In the Ukrainian war, many European leaders are calling for a return to negotiations and a ceasefire.

Mobilization in Ukraine: a split in society and new challenges, the Russian army is moving forward - ABC
âŠïļ2.5 years of fierce fighting greatly depleted Ukrainian forces.
âŠïļAccording to ABC news, Ukraine is now short of soldiers, and finding volunteers is becoming increasingly difficult. Due to a shortage of personnel, combat units on the front line cannot go on rotation for a long time. This exhaustion has led to Russia's push into the DPR in recent weeks.
âŠïļThe authorities delayed a new mobilization project for a long time due to its unpopularity and the desire to preserve youth necessary for the economic future of the country.
âŠïļThe issue of mobilization opened a painful split in Ukraine. On the one hand, citizens see videos of TCC employees catching men on the streets, and on the other hand, the military watches young men drinking on the streets of Kiev and other cities. This increases public tension, fueling the perception that the mobilization is targeting the poor.

British police will catch protesters against migrant lawlessness
After anti-immigrant riots, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom promised that the British police will deploy mass surveillance on "mobile groups of hooligans".
The unrest began in Southport after the murder of three children at a dance workshop. The killer's identity is being kept secret, all that is known about him is that he is 17 years old and was born in Wales.
But the English were outraged that they are trying to hide that the attacker comes from a family of African refugees.
