Samira Sabzian, a 30-year-old woman, was a child bride and victim of domestic violence like many other women on death row in #Iran. She was executed on 20 December 2023 after spending 10 years on death row. She saw her children for the first and last time shortly prior to execution.

In 2023, at least 22 women were executed in #Iran compared to 16 in 2022. Women who were also the victims of gender apartheid and came from the most marginalised communities. There's also less access to information about women on death row.

At least 471 people were executed for drug-related charges in 2023. Of those, 31% were Baluch minorities who constitute just 2-6% of #Iran's population. Mohammad Rasoul Shehbakhsh was just one of the 138 Baluch people executed for drug charges.

حداقل 471 نفر به اتهامات مربوط به مواد مخدر در سال 2023 اعدام شدند. از این تعداد، 31 درصد اقلیت های بلوچ بودند که تنها 2 تا 6 درصد جمعیت #ایران را تشکیل می دهند. محمد رسول شهبخش تنها یکی از 138 بلوچی بود که به اتهام مواد مخدر اعدام شدند.

In 2023, 56% of all executions were for drug-related charges which are under the jurisdiction of the notorious Revolutionary Courts. The death penalty is a tool of political repression in #Iran, every execution is political regardless of the charges. Hossein Mohammadi, a Kurdish father, was one of at least 471 people executed in 2023.

به اتهامات مربوط به مواد مخدر بوده که در صلاحیت دادگاه‌های بدنام انقلاب است. مجازات اعدام ابزار سرکوب سیاسی در #ایران است، هر اعدامی صرف نظر از اتهامات، سیاسی است. حسین محمدی، پدر کرد، یکی از حداقل 471 نفری بود که در سال 2023 اعدام شدند.
