*ANY TARABA STATE STUDENTS HERE?*
Recent reports indicate that Taraba state college of nursing have been experiencing poor performance in the NMCN CBT, with concerns raised by school authorities.
Records show that in the past few years, the Taraba State College of Nursing has recorded low success rates, and in the last NMCN November CBT, the pass rate was about 40%.
Students are being blamed for these outcomes, but the big question remains:
- *What do you think is responsible for this trend?*
Is it preparation, learning environment, exam approach, or other factors?
👉 Taraba students, let’s interact. Share your experiences, challenges, and suggestions.
This is a safe space for constructive discussion and solutions.
Let’s talk and learn together.

*Good evening, colleagues.*
Please note that in most nursing institutions, it is compulsory to attend classes after having a resit. Therefore, if your school policy requires this, kindly comply fully.
This is yet another reason to remain focused, follow your school’s instructions diligently, and aim to write ✍🏾and pass your exams at once without the need for a resit.
Stay focused and committed.

*NOTICE TO ALL NURSING AND MIDWIFERY TRAINING INSTITUTIONS*
*Subject: Notice on Disparity in Examination Fees on the NMCN Portal and Refund Procedure*
The attention of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria has been drawn to discrepancies observed in the examination fees displayed on the portal for some programmes.
Specifically, it has been noted that:
*Basic Midwifery Programme:*
Some early applicants were charged *₦75,565.54* instead of the approved fee of *₦64,675.95*.
*Community Midwifery Programme:*
Some applicants were charged ₦66,873.67 instead of the approved fee of ₦54,973.36.
In view of the above, I am directed to you that the Council wishes to sincerely apologize for this disparity. Kindly note that *there has been no review or increase in the approved examination fees*. The variation observed is as a result of *technical glitches and adjustments associated with the transition to the newly launched portal*.
I am further directed to inform you that *institutions whose students have already paid the incorrect amounts are requested to compile and forward the following details to the Council for refund processing*:
1. Names of affected students
2. Programme of study
3. Amount paid
4. Evidence of payment (REMITA receipt)
5. Institution name
All submissions should be forwarded to the Council through the appropriate channel for necessary action.
The Council regrets any inconvenience caused and appreciates your understanding and cooperation as efforts are being made to fully stabilize the new portal.
Thank you.

*CONFLICT RESOLUTION*
During a community posting, a group of student midwives is assigned to work together in an antenatal clinic. One student, Zainab, consistently dominates discussions, dismisses others’ opinions, and publicly criticizes a colleague, Blessing, in front of patients and staff. Over time, Blessing becomes withdrawn, avoids participation, and begins making clinical errors due to anxiety. Other students feel uncomfortable but fear speaking up. The situation has started to affect patient care and the learning environment.
As a student midwife knowledgeable in professional ethics, communication skills, and teamwork:
a. Identify the behavioral and professional issues present in this scenario.
b. Explain how poor interpersonal relationships can affect patient safety and learning outcomes.
c. Outline practical steps you would take to address the situation and restore effective teamwork.
d. State the role of communication and emotional intelligence in preventing similar conflicts in clinical practice.

*NMCN 2026 CBT PREPARATION BY NiN PLEASE READ ME*
Now, let’s interact.
Based on statistics from recent NMCN CBT examinations, private institutions tend to record higher pass rates than public (government) institutions.
*Have you ever asked why?*
From experience and exposure, here are a few key reasons
*1. Financial commitment*
- Students in private institutions often pay higher fees, so there is strong motivation to ensure their investment does not go to waste.
- This pushes them to put in extra effort to pass and avoid resits.
*2. Learning engagement*
- In my VIP group, about 80% of participants are from private institutions, while only 20% are from government schools.
- This shows a higher level of engagement and willingness to seek additional support.
*3. Access to multiple resources*
- Candidates from private institutions actively explore every possible means to succeed registering for online classes, sourcing questions from different schools, interacting across platforms, and gathering diverse materials.
- On the other hand, many students from public institutions tend to rely solely on their schools and may become reluctant to seek external support.
There is more to say on this, and I will share more insights with time.
*My advice to everyone is simple*
• Do not wait for your school to provide 100% of your preparation.
• Do not depend only on the few books or materials you already have.
• Make use of available online platforms many are affordable and effective.
• Try to join at least one platform that exposes you to different question standards, materials, and perspectives.
Do your best, pray along, and engage with students from other schools. Share materials, practice together, and prepare strategically.
If you’re facing any challenges, feel free to write them here.
Let’s interact and grow together.
