This Job Hunters Manual highlights three main stages of your Job Hunting process:

Part 1: Looking for a Job
Part 2: Applying for Jobs
Part 3: Landing the Job 

It will guide you through the essentials. If you need an immediate quick help with one of the steps, this should be able to answer the most immediate questions and swiftly prep you for it. This giveaway was developed in 2018 but I keep the information relevant and updated.

This exercise is used in career management course at Harvard Business Publishing, and I’ve been using it with my clients from early 2017.

It is very simple yet can yield surprising insights you about your core interests and work values. Use this log to keep a running list of what you observe that you like—or don’t like—about your job or other jobs, general tasks, work relationships, or the work environment itself.

This exercise is essential part of your self development process. I recommend to go through this exercise as soon as possible because it helps you to rate your skills and identify those that are transferable and those that you want to develop.
Skills are divided into the following categories:

1. Communication Skills
2. Technology and Computer Skills
3. Financial Skills
4. Supervisory Skills
5. Management Skills
6. Teamwork Skills
7. Self-Management Skills
8. Sales and Marketing Skills
9. Physical and Manual Dexterity Skills
10. Other Industry and/or Job Specific Skills

This exercise might take you around 40 minutes to complete, so make sure you have set enough time aside when you get to doing it.

For those of you who doesn't know, sometimes when applying for jobs online, you have to know how to create plain text separators and how to highlight heading titles because companies allow you to enter the plain text only. To shorten the time it takes you to fill in such forms and applications, you should have an alternative version of your CV.

What can be done and how you structure this type of CV is described in this document.

Steps for Developing Emotional Resilience:
• Develop core competencies to instill a sense of confidence. Basic core competencies that exist across a range of industries typically include technical knowledge; communication skill, both verbal and written; core knowledge of industry; interpersonal skills, including managing up and down; creativity; innovation; project and time management; and teamwork.
• Be realistic—know that there may likely be some level of inequity in the work environment, without focusing on it to the exclusion of more positive aspects.
• To the extent possible, reframe situations to focus on beneficial aspects. An assignment can be burdensome, but perhaps it allows for cultivation of relationships in other functional areas. Mastering a tough situation can be framed as, “This is what I need to master in order to move up.”
• Focus on achieving your long-term career goals.
• Keep active in support systems outside of work.
