Had this convo with someone ytd and reflected upon his reply on sensing "unspeakable joy".

Though this year so far has brought me v heavy and significant personal challenges (that almost broke me and they havent ended), amidst me trying to build my new identity and business, I have actually experienced much deeper joy on a more consistent basis.

I tell my clients that one way they can "measure" their progress is if they improve their mix of emotions of negative to neutral-positive overtime.

Applying this to myself, that is definitely a yes and a milestone to celebrate

Waves come and go - keeping in mind, that we are not a drop in the ocean but the ocean itself 🌊

Community, Reflection, and Growth

This afternoon I hosted our quarterly 1:1 client community social—a space to pause, reflect, and connect with fellow humans on the journey.

We split into curated groups by theme, with thoughtful reflection prompts specific to each group that are designed to spark deeper insights -

🌱 Balancing ambition & relationships
🌱 Achievements & self-worth
🌱 Fun vs. avoidance
🌱 Navigating change & what truly matters

Clients shared openly, challenged their own stories, and left with fresh clarity (and hopefully full bellies—drinks and snacks are always part of the coaching toolkit 😋).

So grateful for this community—for the courage to be vulnerable, and the joy of growing together.

Received some questions on IG / in personal client chats and thought I'd share my responses here, in case it is useful to others too :)

Question: How do you measure cognitive load?

💭 Context: Stress management, decision-making and habit formation in the day to day

Key Points I Shared:

1️⃣ Self-assessment:
Measure cognitive load by checking in with your mental state (frazzled vs. calm) and understanding the reasons why.

2️⃣ Proactive self-awareness:
Regularly and intentionally check in with yourself to discern your needs in the moment.

3️⃣ Streamlined decision-making:
Establishing simple decision-making systems, especially for routine tasks. E.g where and what time to exercise - what's Plan A and Plan B etc.

4️⃣ External support for routine activities:
Utilize tools like subscriptions (e.g., I use BFT, ClassPass) to simplify planning and reduce daily decision-making effort in areas like exercise.

All decisions have trade offs! Key is to know what they are and reduce resistance accordingly 💪

Some helpful reminders for the mid-week

1️⃣ State before story. Settle your body and watch your inner narrative change.

2️⃣ Replace catastrophizing with one question: What is the next small thing that would help? Do that.

3️⃣ Life often unfolds in spirals, not straight lines. Allow yourself the grace of looping back to the lessons you’re still untangling.

4️⃣ Letting go gets easier when you love the part that’s gripping. Fear softens when it knows you won’t abandon yourself.

😌 Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work, it means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.
