No doubt some of you have heard of the redistricting issue which has been mentioned in some media circles. But what we are facing in California is dire and immediate. THIS EFFECTS THE ENTIRE COUNTY
Currently there are 52 Congressional Districts in California, 43 are held by Democrats and 9 by Republicans.
On August 18th the State Assembly and State Senate return to Sacramento. They will be voting to call for a Special Election to place a Constitutional Amendment on a Special Election to be held in November of 2025!
This Amendment will be presented to the voters of California as “giving the voters the right to decide” on how the Congressional District are created. This is very misleading as the Amendment will give the creation of the Congressional Districts to the State Legislature, not to the people.
Given the current time line for the 2026 election cycle, the official process for ballot qualification begins on December 11th with the “signatures in lieu of” process. Under current election law, the districts cannot be changed once the official election process has begun.
With a Super Majority in both the Assembly and Senate, this action is inevitable. To remain in compliance with the existing law, the June election will most likely to be moved further into 2026. Yes, they have the ability to move it.
It is believed a tentative map has been drawn and could be available soon. The action will eliminate up to 6 Republican held Congressional Districts in California. Republican incumbents already running for re-election will find themselves without a district. It is believed 3 districts will be created to house republican majority registration and the other 49 will be drawn to have democrat majorities.
Not only does this impact California but it will deliver up to 6 congressional representatives to the US House of Representatives in 2026.
This will give the democrats control of the House, its committees and the power of the budget. It will present President Trump with two years of constant attacks, investigations and yes impeachment's.
At this time in history, the battle for the future of the United States is in California and it begins on August 18, 2025. It is up to us. The Super Majority in California government is actually overriding the majority of voters, (of both parties) who actually VOTED FOR THE CURRENT SYSTEM.
