💥 NEAR Protocol is set to embark on its next phase of decentralisation with the launch of a revamped community governance framework

Designed by Gauntlet, in collaboration with the NEAR Foundation, the proposed on-chain governance framework is set to further decentralize funding, governance, and operations

📝 Key Highlights

1️⃣ Stake-weighted voting: Shift from a one-person-one-vote to a stake-weighted system.

2️⃣ Organization of governing nodes: Simplify and align the governing structure to increase efficiency, which includes implementing a Screening Committee and Endorsed Delegate Mechanism.

3️⃣ Funding structure: Launch new funding types and guardrails, including new incentives for delegates and veNEAR (new governance token) holders.

4️⃣ Novel incentive mechanisms: Incentivising meaningful on-chain activity and participation in governance.
