We've reached the 200-subscriber milestone! Thank you to everyone who supports us!
Today's post is all about film-making because we've been hard at work behind the scenes.
As the summer heats up and more of our students head off on their holidays, Julia, Igor and Tim have been increasingly putting more effort into their entertainment project that will soon be announced on Novaya Riga and beyond. The feedback and help from the wider team have been wonderful too. At the same time, Igor and Tim are finalising the launch of their light-hearted and entertaining YouTube podcast about education in Russia that will include Native Way members and beyond! Peter and Tim are busy working on organising things for our corporate clients, while our entire team is fine-tuning content for our TikTok and Instagram presence in preparation for sharing more from July onwards. Finally, Tim continues running his speaking club in the centre of Moscow, with Peter and David also soon getting involved.
So, stay tuned!

Our Pierre Leclercq hasn’t designed any BMW X5s or X6s, but we still think he could have done a better job with that boxy Citroën monstrosity😱 .

In the first post of this series, we looked at motivation or the spark that gets us moving. But motivation alone is not enough. It comes and goes, and some days it simply doesn’t show up.
That’s where self-discipline comes in. Self-discipline is what keeps you going when the excitement fades, when progress feels slow, and when excuses start sounding very convincing.

Bunker by Native Way 🥳
The wait is over, ladies and gentlemen! We finally want to publicly announce our most recent project!
A lot of work has gone into setting up our bunker games, not to mention filming the promo. We think😎 Igor, 😍 Julia and 🤕 Tim have done a wonderful job with it. What do you think?
We are currently running our games as private events on Novaya Riga and Rublevo-Uspenskoe Highway with 14 players taking part each time, not including us, but we are also looking into expanding our reach and running these games in Moscow too! Stay tuned!👍 If someone has ideas for a partnership, let us know!

After 12 years, I’ve realised... the best parts of teaching go far beyond vocabulary, grammar and exam results.
😊 Building lasting relationships 🌐
At the beginning, every student feels like a stranger. But the more time we spend studying, talking and learning together, the better we get to know each other. Over time, many students start to feel like friends, or even part of my second family.
That’s something quite unique about teaching. Unlike in many other jobs, where clients remain unfamiliar faces, teachers often build relationships that last for years. When a student invites me to a birthday, it isn’t about networking or climbing the career ladder. It’s because we’ve formed a genuine bond.
😊 Watching students grow 🌱
The other day, one of my students and I realised that I’ve been teaching him for eight years. We started when he was just nine and could barely speak English. Now he’s 17, about to finish school and speaks almost fluently. Watching someone grow in confidence and seeing how far they’ve come is incredibly rewarding.
😊 Learning from my students 📚
People often think that teachers are the only ones sharing knowledge, but the truth is that we’re learning too.
Through conversations with students of all ages and backgrounds, I’ve learned a great deal about life and started to see the world differently. Sometimes it’s difficult to tell who’s teaching whom!
😊 Feeling appreciated 👏
Not every job makes you feel appreciated. People probably won’t thank you for giving them a parking ticket or trying to sell them something they don’t need.
Teaching is different. A heartfelt thank you, a cup of tea during a lesson or a small gift on Teachers’ Day can mean a great deal. I have one student who remembers me every year and always gives me a little present. The gift itself isn’t what matters. It’s the thought that counts!
