As is the course of Western liberal democracies, the Irish state security apparatus is making its top priority the repression of popular political dissent, this time with baseless accusations of nefarious foreign hands directing recent community organising against refugee centers. The Garda commissioner is openly saying his priority is to work with foreign police forces to liaise on how to quell "far-right" discontent because he finds it "sinister".

How is anyone meant to interpret this other than open state repression of political dissent?
