Jalandhar: Protests erupted outside former cricketer and Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh’s residence after his recent move from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, a group of protesters gathered outside his house in Jalandhar and wrote “Gaddar” (traitor) on the walls and gates of the property. The act followed a day after Harbhajan Singh, along with six other AAP Rajya Sabha MPs, announced their exit from the party and joined the BJP.

The group move, involving 7 out of 10 AAP MPs in the Rajya Sabha, qualifies as a merger under anti-defection rules and has triggered strong political reactions, especially in Punjab.
