In recent weeks, northeastern India, especially the state of Assam, has been hit by serious natural disasters as a result of heavy rains.

Floods and landslides caused the death of at least 16 people, and the displacement of more than 300,000 people from their flooded homes.

The Indian Army and Air Force participated in the rescue operations, as a military helicopter was used to rescue 13 fishermen stranded on a small island in the Brahmaputra River, which passes through the state of Assam. India witnessed a significant rise in rain rates this year, which exacerbated the floods.

Landslides in the state of Arunachal Pradesh caused the closure of several roads, while army forces rescued students and teachers from a flooded school.
