“EgyptAir” has sold 12 Airbus “A220-300” aircraft to Azur Air due to their unsuitability for climatic conditions.

This came in an announcement to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company of “EgyptAir”, Yahya Zakaria.

“Zakaria” indicated in his statements to Bloomberg that the deal will help pay the price of the loan used to buy aircraft, announcing that the company will deliver the planes in batches until March 2025.

EgyptAir said it has signed a new deal to purchase 10 “A350-900” aircraft as part of its efforts to meet the growing demand for air transport and improve the flight experience for its customers.

This decision comes after the company contracted 12 ‘A220-300” aircraft in 2019, and took delivery of the last in September 2020, before deciding to sell them due to unfavorable weather conditions.
