Tomorrow, Saturday, Cairo International Stadium will witness the final match of the African Champions League, between Al-Ahly of Egypt and Esperance of Tunisia.

The first leg between the two teams ended in a goalless draw at the “Hamadi Al-Agrabi” stadium in Rades, which adds more excitement to the return match.

Esperance of Tunisia aims to break the dominance of the Egyptian Al-Ahly, known as the “Red Devils”, and win the title for the fifth time in its history. On the other hand, Al-Ahly seeks to strengthen its record and win the twelfth title in its history.

Al-Ahly is led by Swiss coach Marcel Kohler and is seeking to win its second continental title in a row, which places it in the ranks of historical coaches who won the title twice in a row, such as Congolese Democrat Celestine Tambwe with Mazembe, Portuguese Manuel Jose with Al-Ahly, Tunisian Moin Chaabani with Esperance, and South African Pitso. Mosimane with Al-Ahly.

For Esperance, a draw with any positive result is enough to achieve the fifth title in its history, which makes the match open to all possibilities and makes it exciting between the two teams.

It is noteworthy that the two teams met in 22 matches in the African Champions League, and Al-Ahly won 10 times, Esperance won 4 times, and tied in 8 other matches.

Tunisian sports circles have circulated calls to naturalize Brazilian player Rodrigo Rodriguez, a prominent striker for Esperance, as part of attempts to strengthen the strength of the Tunisian national team.

Rodriguez, who joined Esperance in July 2023, caught attention after his remarkable brilliance in the Tunisian League, where he scored 10 goals during the coronation stage, and led his team to win the league title for the thirty-third time in its history and reach the final of the African Champions League.

There were calls for him to be naturalized to strengthen the front line of the Eagles of Carthage, after the successive successes of Rodriguez and the modest performance of the Tunisian national team, which exited the African Cup of Nations in the first round and suffered from a lack of offensive effectiveness.

While the Royal Army will meet the Nigerian team Remo Stars, which it faced in the last season and was able to overcome with difficulty after a draw in Morocco and a win in Niger.
