The Asian Football Confederation announced on Friday that it imposed a financial penalty on the captain of the Saudi Al-Nasr club and Portuguese international player Cristiano Ronaldo, after he committed a violation of the rules.
The Saudi newspaper Al-Youm reported that the AFC Disciplinary Committee decided to fine Ronaldo $15,000 for violating Article 60.6 of the regulations and for wearing a third-party trademark during the press conference that followed his team’s match against the Emirati club Al Ain in the AFC Champions League last season.
The committee also imposed a financial penalty on Al-Nasr coach, the Portuguese Luis Castro, amounting to $7,000 due to his aggressive behavior towards the competing team (Al-Ain Club), based on Article 50.1 of the regulations.
