Four Algerian parties announced the formation of a new political alliance to achieve a national consensus in the country, the National Liberation Front, the National Democratic Rally, the National Construction Movement, and the Future Front.

Yesterday, Thursday, party leaders met at the headquarters of the National Liberation Front Party, and the Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front, Abdel Karim Ben Mubarak, stated that the meeting aims to establish a political alliance of formations that share common visions and seek to achieve a national consensus to protect the interests of the people.

Bin Mubarak added that his party seeks to strengthen political relations with other parties, especially at the level of Parliament in its two chambers and the local and municipal councils and based on a program based on the principles of November 1, which aims to build a popular, social democratic state within the framework of Islamic principles.

Ben Mubarak pointed out that this alliance is not limited to the upcoming presidential election, but rather aims to take unified positions in various political, legal, social and economic fields, which will enhance Algeria’s strength and stability.

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune terminated the duties of Algeria’s ambassador to Cairo, Hassan Rabhi, just one day after he handed over his credentials to the Egyptian government, and less than a week after assuming his duties.

Diplomatic sources reported that President Tebboune issued a decision to terminate Ambassador Rabhi’s duties the day before yesterday, Thursday, making him one of the fastest changes in the Algerian diplomatic corps.

Rabhi was appointed to this position at the beginning of last April, succeeding Ambassador Abdelaziz bin Ali Sharif, and on April 12, the Algerian Foreign Ministry announced the Egyptian government’s approval of his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Algeria to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune congratulated the President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, as he stressed his keenness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

According to the media office of the President of the Presidential Council, the congratulations came in a special telegram sent by Tebboune to Menfi, in which he expressed his sincere congratulations and wishes of good health and well-being to him and to the brotherly Libyan people.

Tebboune added that he renews his keenness to continue joint work in order to strengthen brotherhood and solidarity between the two peoples, expressing his hope that God will fulfill the brotherly Libyan people’s aspirations for security, stability and development.

The Algerian Ministry of Culture announced, on Friday, the postponement of all major art festivals scheduled for this summer in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a devastating Israeli war since October 7, 2023.

A statement by the Ministry of Culture and Arts said, “In light of the escalation of the horror of the massacres committed by the Zionist criminal forces and the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, the Ministry of Culture and Arts decided to postpone all major art festivals that were scheduled for this summer.”

The Ministry of Culture organizes major artistic festivals every summer, attended by major singers inside Algeria and from the Arab world, such as the “Timgad” festival in Batna Governorate (east), and “Al-Kazif” in the capital, Algiers.
