The European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) released a report on Friday, revealing the existence of 821 criminal networks threatening security in the European Union.

Organized crime poses a major threat to the internal security of the European Union, directly affecting the lives of the blocโ€™s citizens.

The report highlighted the danger of criminal networks and how they operate, as they appear to be professional, flexible, destructive, and highly controlled, and explained that these networks do not operate in isolation, but affect the lives of European citizens directly, causing high levels of violence associated with drugs and guerrilla wars in many cities of the Union.

The poll, the results of which were published on June 7 in the Arab Barometer research magazine in cooperation with the Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis, showed that 79% of Moroccans believe that sexual harassment is widespread in the streets, and 65% believe that it occurs in work settings.

These numbers sparked strong reactions from womenโ€™s associations in Morocco, which demanded that legal texts be reconsidered and improved to provide adequate protection for women victims of violence.

Hanan Rehab, national writer for the Socialist Organization of Federal Women, described the numbers as unsurprising, noting that women suffer from harassment on a daily basis in public spaces, places of work and study.

The legislation allows cannabis to be grown for medical and industrial purposes and represents a major shift in the cultivation of this plant in northern Morocco.

Abdel Salam, who lives in the village of Mansoura in the Chefchaouen province, expressed his happiness with the legal decision, saying: โ€œI never imagined that we would be able to grow cannabis without fear of arrest, theft, or not being able to sell the crop.โ€

Prior to these legislations, cannabis cultivation had been illegal since 1954, leaving farmers living in a state of constant tension.
