The Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, expressed his strong condemnation of the request of the interim “National Unity” government for Egyptian intelligence officials to leave Libyan territory, describing the request as “irresponsible.”

Algeria expressed its deep concern over the recent military movements in Libya, noting that it is following with great interest the escalating tension in the southern and western regions of Libya.

The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, in a statement, that these developments raise serious concerns, shared with the United Nations, regarding the possibility of an escalation of violence in the country.

Algeria renewed its call for the conflicting Libyan parties to exercise restraint and to favor dialogue, warning of the dire consequences of resuming fighting.

The Algerian Foreign Ministry stressed the need to preserve the fragile gains achieved in terms of stopping the clashes, and to work to find a peaceful solution that guarantees national reconciliation and the reunification of Libyan institutions away from foreign interference.

Benghazi witnessed yesterday, Sunday, a successful start for the Libyan teams in the international version of the Beach Volleyball Championship, and the Libyan teams (2) and (3) achieved two victories over the Russian and Moroccan teams, respectively.

The competition is held on the Al-Lathama Beach Stadium and is part of the activities of the Benghazi Summer Festival for the year 2024, and witnesses the participation of teams from Morocco, Gambia, Senegal, Russia, Poland, and Spain, in addition to three Libyan teams.

The Libyan team (2) was able to defeat Russia with a score of 2-1, and the Libyan team (3) completed the successes by defeating Morocco 2-0, while the Libyan team (1) lost to Poland with a score of 0-2.

On Sunday, the city of Kufra was exposed to unprecedented heavy rains that led to flooding inside the Martyr Attia Al-Kaseh Hospital, forcing the authorities to evacuate patients and transfer them to other clinics.

A video clip published by the Red Crescent Society, Kufra branch, showed the efforts of its emergency team in evacuating patients and ensuring their safety.

The team provided psychological support to children from the Sudanese community who were separated from their families during the rain wave, and contributed to securing a safe passage for a Sudanese family whose home was damaged by the floods, in addition to providing first aid to the injured.

This request came after the Libyan government classified them as ” undesirable individuals,” according to information obtained by “Bawabat Al-Wasat.”

The Libyan government gave the diplomats, Counselor Mohamed Adel Mohamed Hosni and Second Secretary Mohamed Mamdouh Mustafa El-Sharbiny, 72 hours to leave Libyan territory, according to an official letter sent by the Protocol Department of the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Egyptian embassy.

The Ministry of Interior in the Libyan Government of National Unity has tightened the laws regulating the import of predatory animals, in light of the increasing incidents of animals escaping from their owners, which poses a direct threat to public safety.

The ministry confirmed in its statement the implementation of Article (489) of the Libyan Penal Code, which strictly prohibits the import or breeding of these creatures in ways that violate the regulations in force.

This comes after several unfortunate incidents, including the incident of a tiger escaping in the city of Mislata and the fatal attack of a tiger on the child Mundhir Al-Saiti in Ajdabiya.

The spokesman for the Libyan House of Representatives, Abdullah Blihaq, revealed that the council voted unanimously during its official session on Tuesday to end the term of the executive authority in Tripoli, which came in the preliminary stage.
