The spokesman for the Libyan Export Development Center, Mohamed Hamouda, said that the value of Libyan non-oil exports amounted to $3.1 billion dollars .

Libyan dates, which are grown in oasis and desert areas, ranked first in these exports, followed by olive oil grown locally in the western regions of the country, and fish that abound on the Libyan coast.

Hamouda pointed out in press statements that there are many companies that export various products, including dates, honey, pasta, couscous, fish, packaged foodstuffs, and building materials.

Hamouda added that Libyan exports are heading to countries in Africa, Europe, and Asia, especially to Sweden, Turkey, Niger, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Hamouda explained that Libya aims to enhance its non-oil exports as alternatives to the country's main source of income, which is oil, which constitutes about 95% of national income.
