Gamsutl is located at 1418 meters above sea level. The history of this village is about 6000 years old.
The location was ideal in terms of war and defense, and the surrounding cliffs and mountains became part of the houses.
In 1970, 209 people lived in the aul, in 1983 - 10, in 2010 - 3 residents, and then 1 person altogether. For a long time, the mayor and president of Gamsutl (as Abdulzhalil Abdulzhalilov called himself - the last resident) was also a guide of this place for free, showed the iconic places of his native village.
