Ненцы (Ямал, Россия) - пожалуй, один из немногих малых народов севера, кто носит традиционную одежду и зимой, и летом и, в целом, продолжает придерживаться традиционного уклада жизни.
Зимой, в 40-градусный мороз, ни один пуховик не спасёт так, как спасает малица (мужская одежда) или ягушка (женская одежда) сшитая из шкур оленя. В ней можно даже переночевать в тундре! А летом удобнее в легкой малице из тонкой шкуры или ягушке из натуральной ткани или длинных платьях из ситца.
Всю одежду, и зимнюю, и летнюю, ненцы шьют сами с использованием также вручную сделанных, невероятно прочных ниток из жил оленей🦌

Когда бываешь на Ямале, иногда думаешь, как сложно здесь растить детей. Холод. Даже в чуме утром бывает минусовая температура.
А они живут, играют в снежки, смотрят, как живут их родители и учатся навыкам суровой жизни в тундре.
Ситуация. Каслаем, родители заняты перекочевкой весь день. Ребёнок, укутанный в тёплые шкуры, сидит в нарте несколько часов подряд. Щеки розовые, но самому тепло, сидит и смотрит, и не капризничает.
Или в чуме. Трехлетняя малышка подходит к чану с водой, наполовину в замерзшем состоянии, черпает ковшиком и пьёт.
Они живут так, как живут их родители. Они не знают другой жизни, не знают комфорта мегаполиса. Но они знают то, чего не знаем мы. Представьте, шестилетний ребёнок знает поименно каждого оленя из их тысячного стада. И это естественно для него.

When you visit Yamal, sometimes you think how difficult it is to raise children here. Cold. Even in the plague in the morning there is a subzero temperature.
And they live, play snowballs, watch their parents live and learn the skills of a harsh life in the tundra.
Situation. Migrating, parents are busy moving all day. A child wrapped in warm skins sits in a sled for several hours in a row. The cheeks are pink, but very warm, he sits and looks, and is not capricious.
Or in the plague. A three-year-old baby comes up to a vat of water, half frozen, scoops with a ladle and drinks.
They live like their parents do. They don't know another life, they don't know the comfort of a metropolis. But they know what we do not know. Imagine a six-year-old child knows by name every deer from their thousandth herd. And this is natural for him.

🇷🇺ЯМАЛ: В ЧЕМ СМЫСЛ КОЧЕВОЙ ЖИЗНИ?🦌🛷
⁃ Вставай, каслаем.
Едва проснувшись и услышав эти два слова, пятилетняя Алина Вануйто со взрослым пониманием встаёт и начинает помогать родителям собираться. Сегодня утром ясно и безветренно, и родители решили, что это хороший день, чтобы переехать на новое пастбище. Предстоит полностью разобрать чумы, погрузить все вещи на нарты и выехать в путь на оленях и снегоходах, а затем и поставить чумы на новом месте. Все это за один день.
В конце зимы ненцы каслают (делают перекочевку) в среднем раз или два в две недели. Летом - чаще, до трёх раз в неделю. Оленям нужен свежий ягель, и нельзя, чтобы они долго паслись на одном месте. Частая смена пастбищ позволяет сохранить их, не разрушая почву и исключая появление из почвы спящих инфекций, таких, как Сибирская язва, например.
Этнографы образно называют это «парением над тундрой». А сами ненцы говорят, что тогда «Земля после нас остаётся».
А если застрять на одном месте и не перекочевать вовремя, по словам ненцев, «земля ломается».
Столько заботы о земле, об окружающей среде в этих словах и в этих действиях, столько смысла в кочевой жизни этих простых и трудолюбивых людей. И все это каждый раз заставляет задуматься.

- Wake up, today we migrate.
Having just barely waken up and heard these words, five-year-old Alina Vanuito gets up with adult understanding and begins to help her parents get ready. This morning the weather is clear and calm, and the parents decided it was a good day to migrate to a new pasture. It is necessary to completely disassemble the chum, load all the stuff on sledges and set off on a journey on reindeer and snowmobiles, and then set the chum in a new place. All this in one day.
At the end of winter, the Nenets migrate on average once or twice every two weeks. In summer it is more often, up to three times a week. Reindeer need fresh moss, and they shouldn’t graze in one place for a long time. Frequent change of pastures allows them to preserve them without destroying the soil and excluding the emergence of dormant infections from the soil, such as anthrax, for example.
Ethnographers figuratively call this "soaring over the tundra." And the Nenets themselves say that then "the Earth remains after us."

🇷🇺МЫ ВЕРНУЛИСЬ С ЯМАЛА 🦌
Наша международная команда завершила свое приключение на Ямале. Осенняя поездка получилась очень насыщенной🤩
Сотни оленей в осенних красках бескрайнего севера, размеренная тундровая жизнь, волшебство полярного сияния и никакой связи с внешним миром - абсолютная перезагрузка!
А ещё мы дошли до берега Карского моря - до Обской губы. А некоторые смельчаки даже искупались 👍

Hundreds of deer in the autumn colors of the endless Russian far north, calm tundra life, the magic of the northern light and no connection with the outside world - an absolute reboot!
And we also reached the shores of the Kara Sea - the Ob Bay. And some daredevils even swam👍

Наша международная команда завершила свое приключение на Ямале. Осенняя поездка получилась очень насыщенной🤩
Сотни оленей в осенних красках бескрайнего севера, размеренная тундровая жизнь, волшебство полярного сияния и никакой связи с внешним миром - абсолютная перезагрузка!
А ещё мы дошли до берега Карского моря - до Обской губы. А некоторые смельчаки даже искупались 👍
Спасибо нашей весёлой команде за позитив и интерес к жизни народов Крайнего Севера!

Традиционное жилище ненцев - чум.
Из всего многообразия арктической архитектуры (яранга, землянка, челюстной дом) чум по своей конструкции выглядит самым простым: прямой геометрический конус из нескольких десятков (25 – 40) еловых шестов, поставленных по кругу, на которые крепятся пологи из оленьих шкур. Чум укрывается двумя пологами, сшитыми из 30-40 оленьих шкур каждый. Как и в одежде, верхний слой мехом наружу, а внутренний - ворсом вовнутрь.
Это призвано удерживать тепло и служить максимально долго.
Вероятно, чум является самым древним из северных жилищ: по самой убедительной пока версии, переход человека в Америку произошёл через Берингов пролив - в арктической зоне во время последнего оледенения в эпоху палеолита. Когда племена атапасков, живущие в лесной зоне Северной Америки, и их соседи выходили летом из лесов в тундру, то они использовали подобную конструкцию, которая напоминала чум. Индианисты называют это сооружение вигвам.

The traditional dwelling of the Nenets people is called chum.
Of all the variety of Arctic architecture (yaranga, dugout, whale-bone house), chum in its design seems to be the simplest: a straight geometric cone of several dozens (25 - 40) fur tree poles erected in a circle, covered with a canvas made of reindeer skins. The chum is covered by two covers, sewn from 30-40 reindeer skins each. The same as in case of clothing, the top cover is fur-out, and the inside one is fur-inside. This is designed to retain heat and serve as long as possible.
Probably, chum is the oldest of the northern dwellings: according to the most convincing version so far, the transition of human to America was through the Bering Strait - in the Arctic zone during the last glacial period in the Paleolithic era. When the Atapaskan tribes living in the forest zone of North America and their neighbors went out of the forests into the Tundra in the summer, they used a similar construction that resembled chum. Indologists call this construction the wigwam.
