В дождевом лесу Итури провинции Ориентале Демократической республики Конго живут одни из самых низкорослых на планете людей — пигмеи племени Мбути. Их средний рост составляет 120 см. В лесу Итури проживает около 5 тысяч пигмеев. Их доля нелегка. Племена банту презирали и даже охотились на них. Существовало поверье, что если съесть мясо пигмея, можно обрести магическую силу. В общем, каннибализм тут процветал и, говорят, еще не искоренен.

In Ituri rainforest, in Orientale province of the Dempcratic Republic of the Congo, one of the world's smallest people live - the pygmies of the Mbuti tribe. Their average height is 120 cm. In the forest of Ituri, there are about 5 thousand Pygmies. Their life is not easy. Bantu tribes despised and even used to hunt them. There was a belief that if you eat Pygmy’s meat, you can gain magical power. In general, cannibalism here flourished and, they say, has not yet been eradicated.

Команда MZUNGU EXPEDITIONS взошла на один из пяти существующих в мире вулканов с постоянным лавовым озером. Ньирагонго (3470 м) - самый активный вулкан Чёрного континента, известен самым большим 2-километровым кратером и особенно текучей лавой, представляющей большую опасность для соседнего города Гома в случае его извержения. Скорость стекающей по склону лавы может достигать 100 км/ч.
Мы ночевали в домиках на краю кальдеры и наслаждались самым большим в мире файер-шоу!

Hello from DR Congo🇨🇩 from the very heart of Africa bubbling over with thousands tons of glowing avalanche of Nyiragongo volcano 🌋
MZUNGU EXPEDITIONS team has ascended one of the five existing in the world volcanos with permanent lava lake. Nyiragongo (3470 m) is the most active volcano of the Black continent and is famous for the biggest 2-kilometer crater and especially for paehoehoe lava, which poses a threat to the neighbor city of Goma in case of its eruption. The speed of running along the slope lava can reach 100 km/h.
We spent a night in small houses at the edge of caldera and enjoyed the greatest fire show in the world!

Команда MZUNGU EXPEDITIONS совершила трекинг к горным гориллам 🦍 в Непроходимом Лесу Бвинди (Bwindi Impenetrable National Park) в Уганде. Горные гориллы - один из наиболее редких видов приматов, которых на сегодняшний день в мире насчитывается немногим более тысячи особей. Три соседних государства - Уганда, Руанда и ДР Конго успешно охраняют этих уникальных животных и популяция медленно растёт. Непроходимый лес Бвинди насчитывает половину всех горных горилл, живущих в мире.
Нам удалось приблизиться максимально близко к 22-летнему сильвербэку Мукиза и его группе, состоящей из 18 горилл. Безусловно, это стало одним из сильнейших впечатлений нашего путешествия.

MZUNGU EXPEDITIONS team made a trekking to mountain gorillas🦍 in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. Mountain gorilla is one of the rarest kind of primates, which counts a little more than a thousand of species. Three neighbor states - Uganda, Rwanda and DR Congo successfully protect these unique animals, and their population is slowly growing.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park counts a half of all gorillas living in the world.
We succeed in maximum approaching a 22-year-old silver back Mukiza and his group of 18 gorillas. It was absolutely one of the greatest impressions of our trip.

Друзья, наша экспедиция в Центральную Африку прибыла к пигмеям батва близ Национального парка Семулики в Уганде и провела футбольный матч на большом поле! Кажется, последить за этим событием собралась вся округа. Пигмеи в очередной раз подтвердили, что им нет равных в скорости, и одержали победу со счетом 1-0! Будет повод вернуться в ноябре 2020! 😜

Eastern gorillas are the largest primates living on Earth, reaching a height of about 2 meters and weighing more than 200 kg, and, at the same time, some of the rarest. Their population is slightly more than 700, with more than half currently living in Uganda, in the Bwindi forest. Mountain Eastern Gorillas are the endemics of Central Africa, with tiny populations also in Virunga NP in the DRC and Volcanoes Park in Rwanda, the visit costs a lot of money, but it's worth it!

В джунглях ДР Конго, Уганды, ЦАР, Габона и Камеруна живут пигмейские племена, считающиеся самыми низкорослыми на Земле. Рост некоторых мужчин бамбути, батва, бака и других пигмеев не превышает 120-130 см. Такой рост сложился в ходе эволюции и идеален для жизни охотой и собирательством в густом подлеске дождевого леса Центральной Африки. Пигмеи обладают феноменальной скоростью и ловкостью. Не обладая какой то особой техникой, именно за счёт скорости они переиграли в футбол все наши экспедиции.
Однако рост пигмеев едва ли имеет значение в определении стандартов красоты этого племени. Самым красивым мужчиной считается тот, который... сумел достать с высоченного дерева для своей любимой мёд - единственную доступную в джунглях сладость. Эти акробатические номера мужчины совершают, рискуя жизнью, лишь бы добиться расположения женщин.

Jungles of the DR Congo, Uganda, Central African Republic, Gabon and Cameroon are inhabited by Pygmy tribes who are considered the shortest people on Earth. The height of some men of Bambuti, Batwa, Baka and other Pygmies does not exceed 120-130 cm. Such height developed in the course of evolution and is perfect for life by hunting and gathering in the dense underbush of the rainforest of Central Africa. Pygmies have phenomenal speed and agility. Without any special skills, thanks to speed, they beat all our expeditions in football.
However, the stature of Pygmies hardly matters for the beauty standards of this tribe. The most beautiful man is the one who ... managed to get honey from the top of the huge tree for his beloved - the only sweetness available in the jungle.
