Teaching computational thinking at school is a recent phenomenon in India. Since 2016, ACM India's education initiative, CSpathshala, has been promoting computational thinking by providing a curriculum, teaching aids and training to teachers for free. As part of the ACM India webinar series on education, CSpathshala brings you teacher-oriented webinars that presents innovative ways to make the task of teaching computational thinking easier.

The first of the series by Professor Tim Bell of University of Canterbury, New Zealand, will be held on Saturday 27th June 2020 at 11am IST.

Dear Teachers

We would like to invite all of you and your Computer and Maths teachers to the 2nd conference on Computational Thinking in Schools - CTiS2020 to be held at virtually on 2nd and 3rd October 2020. 

CTiS is an annual event organized by CSpathshala, an ACM India education initiative to promote Computational Thinking in schools. CTiS provides a platform for schools and teachers implementing computational thinking to share their experiences.  

The event will be held from 2-5pm IST on both days with a special keynote session at 8:30pm IST / 11am ET on October 2 by Prof. Jeannette Wing,  Avanessians Director, Data Science Institute @Columbia University, NY. The virtual conference will feature panel discussion and presentations of selected abstracts with sessions on implementation of computational thinking, fun activities and innovative examples used by teachers in classrooms! The enclosed invite presents the agenda and additional information on the event. 

The event is open to all educators as well as those involved and interested in computing education. 

Registration is free.

Dear All,

Science Society of India is inviting students from class 7th to class 12th to join a free mobile app development crash course using MIT App Inventor for beginners conducted by Narayan Iyer. This will be followed by an App Inventor challenge contest (details of the contest will be posted later).
There will be four one-hour sessions (during weekends):
Day-1: Saturday May 1st 2021
Day-2: Sunday May 2nd 2021
Day-3: Saturday May 8th 2021
Day-4: Sunday May 9th 2021.
The timings will be 6.30pm to 7.30pm

The powerfull MSS smart class features due to the integration of Openboard will become clear.

These can be inexpensively availed by pairing a projector and wireless/bluetooth pen+tablet. (Wacom CTL410 or XP-Pen Deco Mini 7)

Via the Plasma desktop environment, the MSS fully supports the multitouch features of most leading IFPs as well.
