Get reminders at the right place β€” use location-based contexts.

Use case: In the morning you add a task "Buy cakes" on desktop, and assign the context "@ Bakery" to it. In the evening you walk by the bakery and receive a reminder of this task on your phone

In such a way, the task created on the desktop is auto-synced to the phone.

Try it! Just make sure that Push is enabled in your cloud sync settings.

Tip: Don't assign location-based context to everything. Use it only with tasks which require your attention on the spot.

Task by voice on Android

If you add a task by voice, it is spoken back and created by itself β€” the dialog automatically closes after a few seconds.

It is very convenient, especially while driving.

How I solved the problem of constantly deferring tasks to the future.

I created a repeating task "Ton of things to do" and linked it to approx. 30 non-urgent tasks. Every day I try to complete at least one of them.

The setup looks like this:

- the repeating task appears every day in To-Do
- in notes it has a link to the folder 'Someday/Maybe', where my non-urgent tasks are stored.
To copy a link to a task, right-click on it > Copy As > As Local Link.
- The folder is hidden in To-Do.
As you may already know, we are a team from Ukraine. Now we have a difficult time, the situation is tense. But your data is completely safe.

We are using Amazon Web Services for our Cloud infrastructure. AWS data centers are located in USA and EU, so the the data is safe!

The application will also not be affected in any way because there is no infrastructure and servers in Ukraine.

We're praying for peace in our country! πŸ’›πŸ’™

As you know, Ukraine, where our entire team is from, is currently fighting against Russia for our freedom and democracy. This war has affected every aspect of our lives, but we continue to work and want to update you on the current situation.

In our blog we talk about how we are working during the war, how you can help us, and what are our future plans. We also invite you to discuss the new features for the desktop-version!

Add links to local files

On desktop you can insert a link to a file stored on your computer: right-click in the notes area, find the 'Insert link' option and select the file.

This will add a link in the Markdown format, so you will get a ready-made button in the Preview mode.
Why the project doesn't show 100% when all its subtasks are completed

We consider the Project as part of the activity and some effort is required to complete it. So the progress will be shown 100% if:

a) the project itself is completed, or
b) if the project effort parameter is set to 0.

That is, if you want the progress to be calculated only by subtasks, set 0 in the "Effort" section in Properties for the parent project.

In addition, you can set different effort values for different subtasks to calculate percentage completion more accurately. See more about this in the help file.
For stable and reliable work with MLO, we recommend using extended Backup and Archiving.

- why you need Backup, even if you use Cloud sync

#MLOuserTip How to temporarily put off a recurring task so that its recurrence pattern does not change

For example, there is a task that repeats every Monday. This week you can only do it on Friday, and these five days the task should not hang in To-Do as overdue.

Solution. For a recurring task, set additional options:

- Check 'Disable automatic reset' and 'Automatically recur when any subtask is completed'
- When you need to put off the current occurrence, simply create a subtask with the same name and set its start date to Friday.

As a result, you get the following:

- An overdue task is not visible in To-Do because it has a subtask
- The subtask will appear at the time you need, because its start date has been shifted.
- When a subtask is completed, the parent task will be also completed and shift to the next occurrence.
- The temporary subtask will remain completed and will not interfere with the next occurrence. You can delete it or change the date next time if you again need to temporarily put off a recurring task.
Drag&Drop tasks between windows

On desktop you can open a view in a separate window (hit F3 for that), place it next to the main window and drag&drop tasks. For example, you may want to move tasks from Inbox to a desired branch in Outline.
Add tasks by voice in iOS version

Need to quickly add a reminder? We would like to remind that in the iOS version you can say β€œHey Siri, remind me…” and the next time you open MLO, it will import your reminder into your Inbox folder.

Tasks Nearby

The Nearby view on mobile shows you a list of things you can do in your current location: at home, in the office, in the store, in the city, and so on. It updates your to-do list dynamically, which is brilliant!

On the Android version, you can open the Nearby view in a widget to have this dynamic to-do list at hand.
Until now, our desktop program did not have a Ukrainian version. We've finally fixed this annoying flaw and just added it to the website. Let it be our present to our Ukrainian users for the Independence DayπŸ’›πŸ’™.

Additionally, we've reworked the MLO desktop to support even more languages in the future (including input parsing on that language). And, of course, we started with the Ukrainian version.
