As Salaamu Alaykum Dear Community Members.
*1) Current Situation:*
• Moulana Rylands has been arrested for allegedly contravening the interdict.
• The arrest was initiated by the Trustees of the Ashrafiah Trust
• He is currently being held in Medium C Section at Pollsmoor Prison.
*2) Legal Process:*
• An urgent _ex parte_ (one-sided) application is being prepared to bring Moulana Rylands before the Labour Court for a factual enquiry.
• The application will also seek an order for his release from Pollsmoor Prison.
*3) Immediate Plan of Action*
• Arrangements are being made to visit Moulana Rylands at Pollsmoor to ensure his well-being, confirm that his needs are met, and update him on the legal process.
• A community Mashura is being planned for after Maghrib at Waterloo Rd Masjied this evening to seek input on a *Community Plan of Action*.
*4) Key Message:*
• We encourage community members to inform the broader Cape Town community of the current situation.
• A community Mashura will be held after Maghrib tonight, and all are encouraged to attend.
