In 2021, In one of my friend's TG group there was a guy(don't want to name him) who argued with me that fiat is much more reliable than gold and gold is ancient no one cares, I told him that fiat will keep changing but gold start will stay constant.
Now there are certain countries like china who is increasing their gold reserve and also expanding their Shanghai Gold Exchange in multiple countries using BRICS
Banks are holding gold more than US treasuries

Its a cycle it has happened so many time and every new generation with power comes and says their time is different.
