The Madring has been described as a "crazy circuit", and polesitter Lando Norris advised drivers need certain big body parts to take on the 5.414km Spanish challenge.
The Madring uses a mix of purpose-built track and public roads to create a similar concept to the Miami International Autodrome in Miami. There are 22 corners in total, although there is a 5A and 20A on the track map, with the one to watch being Turn 12, or 'La Monumental'.
The 550 metre-long banked corner offers a couple of different options for a racing line, and if a driver wants to go wheel-to-wheel with a competitor, this is the spot to do it.
There are heavy braking zones around the fast-flowing Madring, and the pit entry is located just before the final corner of El Parque.

Max Verstappen claimed pole position for the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix sprint race after avoiding a penalty for an alleged yellow flag infringement.
Four-time F1 world champion Verstappen stormed to pole by 0.120 seconds over George Russell in the ‘downgraded’ Mercedes. The Red Bull faced and investigation for overtaking Lewis Hamilton under yellow flags in the first part of sprint qualifying but has avoided a penalty, the FIA has confirmed.
Charles Leclerc was on provisional pole but ended up third-fastest for Ferrari and 0.243s off the pace.
Leclerc beat the McLarens of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, while Lewis Hamilton was only sixth and over half a second off the pace after running out of sequence compared to his rivals and completing just one push lap in SQ3.
