Hello Friends! Last two days, we received quite a few questions regarding good Chinese TV dramas and how to watch them effectively! I would like to share my tips with you!
🎬Watching Chinese movies can be a great way to immerse yourself in the language and culture. Here are some tips:

1. It's okay not to understand everything: Don't feel overwhelmed by the number of unknown words or phrases. Check only those words that you have already heard for at least 5 times, and already familiar with them.

2. Emphasize listening and speaking: Pay close attention to the actors' pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm. Try to imitate their speech patterns and practice speaking along with the dialogue. Pause the movie and repeat lines to enhance your pronunciation skills.

Enjoy the process: Remember that watching movies should be an enjoyable experience.

Don't feel discouraged if you don't understand everything at first. Over time, with practice and persistence, your listening, speaking, and comprehension abilities will improve.

Sorry friends, didn’t have time to add English subtitles!
Today’s is the first day of September!
Have you set any small goals for this month?
🔖上周我提到了关于我的英国签证的事情。非常感谢你们的关心,今天我很高兴,因为我的签证终于批下来了!
🔗Post from Instagram!

The correct answer is :
我以前喝酒。

When discussing past habits we use 不。 我以前不喝酒- I didn’t drink alcohol before. - maybe Now you do! 🍾

If you want to say you never drink alcohol, you can use “从来”
我从来不喝酒。

Or you can say “我从来没有喝过酒。“ - which means you never drank alcohol (you never tried), as talking about experience. (Has anyone ever said that before? )

🎞️Today, I'd like to recommend a movie to you all! The movie "消失的她" (Lost in the stars) has been gaining a lot of popularity lately. I caught it over the weekend, and my thoughts on it are quite complex! I won't give away any spoilers, but if you've seen it, I'm curious to know your thoughts. I suggest you give it a watch and share your opinions with us afterward!

⭐️This story is all about the mystery of a missing wife.

In a coastal town on a Southeast Asian island, a tourist from China named He Fei goes to the police station to report a case: during his wedding anniversary trip with his wife Li Muzi, she mysteriously disappears and has been missing for half a month. He Fei, who has been desperately searching for his wife without success, is on the brink of a mental breakdown. His visa is about to expire, but the police have not yet initiated a missing person case.

Plot twist: He wakes up one day, and to his surprise, there's Li Muzi – but it's a different person altogether! She's cuddled up next to him, calling him "hubby" as if they're newlyweds.
He Fei firmly denies it, stating that this woman isn't his wife at all. And that's where the investigation begins...

📚💗💗💗💗 recommendation!

Hey everyone!

I started a book this week, and wow, it’s already made me laugh and cry a little! It’s called “My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry,” or in Chinese, “外婆的道歉信.”

The story is about Elsa, who is seven and a bit different, and her grandma, who is seventy-seven and kinda crazy. When Elsa’s grandma passes away, she leaves some letters saying sorry to people. This starts Elsa’s big adventure….

I’m sending it to you in mobi for Kindle users. You can also use online converters to turn it into PDF!

✖️If reading in Chinese is new for you, and you think you’re ready, here’s a tip: don’t look up every word you don’t know. Just try to get the main idea. The first book might be hard, but it’ll get easier every time you read. Only look up the words that keep popping up, and once you kinda know them, check the dictionary. You’ll definitely remember them that way.

Happy Reading!

Chinese culture often associates certain words with numbers that share similar pronunciations.

In the video there were:

2 (èr) sounds like "爱" (ài), which means "love."
1314 (yī sān yī sì) sounds like "一生一世" (yīshēng yīshì), which translates to "for a lifetime.
