It is apparent that the growing restlessness and uncertainty dogging Trinamool Congress leaders in the face of the BJP’s aggressive campaign is lending uncertainty to the outcomes of the remaining five phases of the election

While Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi and a Bengal minister termed the move an attack on federalism, former BJP ally Shiromani Akali Dal called it the imposition of President’s rule on nearly half of Punjab through the back door

Mamata Banerjee, who has met top Shiv Sena and NCP leaders over the past two days, indicated that she may be planning a fresh coalition of opposition parties. "What is UPA? There is no UPA," the TMC supremo told reporters.

The TMC MPs, in their notice, said the statements made by Justice Gogoi prima facie constitute a "breach of the Council" as they "undermine the dignity of the Rajya Sabha".

Both the Trinamool Congress and Aam Aadmi Party have fought elections from Goa in the past. Among the two, the AAP has been more consistent in its efforts to capture a space for itself in the state 

The ambition of going national is natural, but the Trinamool Congress will have to address the signs of discontent from the early days itself, because West Bengal is still the TMC’s nucleus 

TMC’s push for the Women’s Reservation Bill is seen as a political move by the party, which is led by country's only woman Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and has the highest percentage of Women MPs in the Parliament.
