Panda Day in Tokyo
On 28th October, Tokyo's Ueno Zoo celebrated "Giant Panda Day," which marks the arrival of two of the animals from China 53 years ago. Beijing presented the pair of giant pandas to Ueno Zoological Gardens on October 28, 1972, to commemorate the normalization of ties between China and Japan. The animals have remained popular to this day. Visitors flocked to the zoo from the morning to catch a glimpse of the twins, Xiao Xiao and Lei Lei.
