✳️ Fidḍah al-Nūbiyyah — Servant of al-Zahra (PBUH) and Interpreter of the Qur'an


Part Five


🖊 In the previous sections, we briefly described the life of Lady Fidḍah al-Nūbiyyah (May Allah have Mercy upon Her) and highlighted how Her virtues and miracles point to Her unique spiritual status.

🔹 In this section, we turn to Her intellectual and scholarly position and Her reliability in the eyes of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT).


⚜️ Her Virtues and Miracles (4)

✅ A Scholar and Jurist (ʿĀlimah and Faqīhah)

✍️ The knowledge of Lady Fidḍah was so well-known and evident that even the most hostile enemies of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUTh) could not deny it!

💠 A narration from Imam Jaʿfar al-Ṣādiq (PBUH) recounts that:

When a dispute occurred between Lady Fidḍah and a man from her household, She presented powerful and sound arguments that firmly established the truth of Her claim.

This incident happened in the presence of ʿUmar (may Allah curse him). That accursed one was compelled to admit Her profound knowledge with the following statement:

⚜️«شَعْرَةٌ مِنْ آلِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَفْقَهُ‏ مِنْ عَدِيٍ»

“A single strand from the descendants of Abū Ṭālib is more knowledgeable in jurisprudence than the entire tribe of ʿAdī.”

🔹 Thus, Lady Fidḍah al-Nūbiyyah, the servant of Lady Fatima al-Zahrā (PBUH)—through Her spiritual training, loyalty to Wilāyah, and Her role as the proclaimer of Wilāyah during Hajj—became such a scholar and jurist that even the most bitter enemies of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUTh) were forced to acknowledge Her as more learned and more deeply rooted in jurisprudence.

✅ Her Authentication (Tawthīq) by the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUTh)

🔸 Lady Fidḍah was a woman of knowledge whose credibility was confirmed by Her Master.

Amir al-Muʾminin (PBUH) made this powerful supplication regarding Her:

✨« اللّهم بارک لنا فی فضّتنا»

“O Allah, bless our Fidḍah.”

🎗 In this statement, the attachment of the pronoun “Our” (na) to Her name emphasizes that She was regarded as a part of the Household of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUTh).

🎗 This is the blessing of the Imām prayer for Lady Fidḍah to give Her the ability to carry the knowledge of the Qur’an and companionship with the Qur’an.

⚜️ For twenty years, Lady Fidḍah spoke only in the language of the Noble Qur’an, conveying Her thoughts entirely through the recitation of Qur’anic verses—a fruit of the heartfelt supplication of Her Master, Amir al-Muʾminin (PBUH), for a true servant of Wilāyah.

✨ يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ رَبِّي لَا يُجَلِّيهَا لِوَقْتِهَا إِلَّا هُوَ ثَقُلَتْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَا تَأْتِيكُمْ إِلَّا بَغْتَةً يَسْأَلُونَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِيٌّ عَنْهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

“They ask you about the al-Sāʿah (Day of Judgment)—when will it come to pass? Say: Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None shall reveal it at its time but Him. It weighs heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come to you except suddenly. They ask you as if you were eager to know it. Say: Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know.”
(Sūrat al-Aʿrāf, Verse 187)



❇️ (129) The Blessed Title: ⚜al-Sāʿah/ الساعة⚜


Among the blessed titles of our Master, Hazrat Baqiyyatallah al-Aʿẓam (Arwahuna Fidah), is al-Sāʿah.

✍ “Al-Sāʿah” is one of the names of the Day of Resurrection mentioned in the Noble Qur’an, referring to a promised and known moment among all creation.
➖ According to the statements of the Interpreters of Divine Revelation—the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUTh)—“al-Sāʿah” in one of its inner meanings refers to the Day of the Rise of our Master, Hazrat Baqiyyatallah al-Aʿẓam (Arwahuna Fidah).

💠 As Imam al-Ṣādiq (PBUH) said:

🔅حَاشَ لِلَّهِ أَنْ يُوَقِّتَ ظُهُورَهُ بِوَقْتٍ يَعْلَمُهُ شِيعَتُنَا .. لِأَنَّهُ هُوَ السَّاعَةُ الَّتِي قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: «يَسْئَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَة أَيَّانَ مُرْساها.. (سوره اعراف، ‌آیه ۱۸۷) « يَسْئَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْساها» (سوره نازعات،‌آيه ۴۲)؛ «عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ» (سوره لقمان،‌آيه ۳۴)؛ «ما يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ السَّاعَة قَرِيب» (سوره شوری،‌ آيه ۱۷)..

“Far be it from Allah to assign a specific time for the Reappearance of Hazrat Baqiyatallah al-A’zam( May Allah Hasten His Reappearance) that would be known to Our Shiah, for He is the very al-Sāʿah about which Allah, the Exalted, said: ‘They ask you about the al-Sāʿah —when will it come to pass…’ (al-Aʿrāf: 187), and: ‘They ask you about the al-Sāʿah —when will it arrive?’ (al-Nāziʿāt: 42); and: ‘With Him is the knowledge of the al-Sāʿah .’ (Luqmān: 34); and: ‘What do you know? Perhaps the al-Sāʿah is near.’ (al-Shūrā: 17).”

💠 In another narration, the Imam (PBUH) said:

🔅.. فَهُوَ خُرُوجُ الْقَائِمِ وَ هُوَ السَّاعَةُ

“The Rising of the Qāʾim from the Family of Muḥammad (PBUH) is the al-Sāʿah.”

✨ #Familiarity_with_Imam_Zaman ✨

At night—when there is silence, and silence, and darkness—
Your voice calls to me from the Infinite.

Your voice lifts me, soaring with longing,
At night—when there is silence, and silence, and darkness.

The waves of your voice reach me from afar,
You are an ocean, and I—thirsty for your love—am like a fish.

And this flame that leaps from my soul with every breath,
Bears witness sweetly to the warmth of this longing.

If the dawn of eternity were to grant me your meeting,
Still, I would rejoice in the delight of this waiting.

O Love, I have you—and I have the world.
Always, you are. Whatever you say and whatever you will.

✳️ Fidḍah al-Nūbiyyah — Servant of al-Zahra (PBUH) and Interpreter of the Qur'an


Part Six


✍️ In the previous section it was stated that Lady Fidḍah al-Nūbiyyah, the servant of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (PBUH), was a scholar whose trustworthiness and credibility were affirmed by Her Master, Amir al-Mu'minin Ali (PBUH).

_The noble supplication of the Imam for this true servant of Wilāyah elevated Her to the rank of a bearer of the Knowledge of the Qur’an:

✨«اللهم بارک لنا فی فضّتنا»
“O Allah, bless Our Fidḍah.”

🖌 In this supplication, Lady Fidḍah attained the status of “minna Ahl al-Bayt” (one from among Us, the Ahl al-Bayt).
The Divine blessing in knowledge and Her companionship with the Qur’an elevated Her to a station in which She could speak in no language other than that of the Qur’an itself.

💠 The subject of our discussion in this and the next section is the dimension of Lady Fidḍah as an “Exegete and Bearer of the Knowledge of the Qur’an”—for through Her true servanthood to the Wilāyah, She Herself became a carrier of Divine Knowledge.

⚜️ "Exegete and Bearer of the Knowledge of the Qur’an" (1)

✔️ Since “All knowledge is in the Qur’an,” the one who carries the Knowledge of the Qur’an is also the bearer of universal knowledge.

_Having been nurtured in the House of Revelation, and having heard nothing but the speech of Divine Revelation, Her own speech became none other than the speech of the Qur’an:

⚜️«فِضَّةُ جَارِيَةُ الزَّهْرَاءِ (علیها السلام) مَا تَكَلَّمَتْ مُنْذُ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً إِلَّا بِالْقُرْآنِ»

“Fidḍah, the servant of al-Zahra (PBUH), did not speak for twenty years except with the Qur’an.”

💠 One of the recorded incidents of Lady Fidḍah’s speech in the language of the Noble Qur’an involves a Hajj journey during which She was traveling with Her children but became separated from the caravan and was eventually found alone in the desert by a passerby.

When the man approached and questioned Her, Lady Fidḍah responded only through verses from the Qur’an.

➖ He asked: “Who are you?”

🔅 Lady Fidḍah replied:
«وَ قُلْ سَلَامٌ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ»
“And say: Salam! Soon shall they know.”
(Surah al-Zukhruf, Verse 89)

➖ The man then greeted Her and asked, “What are you doing here?”

🔅 She replied:
«مَنْ يَهْدِ اللَّهُ‏ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ»
“Whomever Allah guides, none can mislead.”
(Surah al-Zumar, Verse 38)

▫️With this response, She subtly indicated that She had become lost in the desert, yet remained under Divine guidance.

➖ The man, amazed at Her answering only through Qur’anic verses, asked, “Are you of the jinn or of mankind?”

🔅 She answered:
«يا بَنِي آدَمَ خُذُوا زِينَتَكُمْ»
“O children of Adam, take your adornment...”
(Surah al-Aʿrāf, Verse 31)

➖ Realizing She was human, he then asked about the origin and purpose of Her journey.

🔅 Lady Fidḍah replied:

يُنادَوْنَ مِنْ مَكانٍ بَعِيدٍ»
“They are called from a distant place...”
(Surah Fuṣṣilat, Verse 44)

«وَ لِلَّهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَيْتِ»
“And pilgrimage to the House is a duty owed to Allah by people...”
(Surah Āl ʿImrān, Verse 97)

▫️ This meant: I have come from a far-off land and am on my way to perform Ḥajj.

➖ He then asked how long She had been separated from the caravan.

🔅 Lady Fidḍah responded by citing the number six:

«وَ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضَ‏ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ»
“And indeed, We created the heavens and the earth in six days...”
(Surah Qāf, Verse 38)

➖ When he asked whether She was hungry, She expressed Her human need for food by saying:

🔅 «وَ ما جَعَلْناهُمْ جَسَداً لا يَأْكُلُونَ الطَّعامَ»
“And We did not make them bodies that do not eat food.”
(Surah al-Anbiyā’, Verse 8)

➖ The man gave Her some food. Then, wishing to help, he instructed Her to hurry and catch up with the caravan...

▫️A Passage from the Supplication of the Day of Dahw al-Arḍ:

🔸 O Allah, send blessings upon Imam al-Mahdi (PBUH) and all of His forefathers,
and make us among His companions and His household,
and resurrect us during His return,
so that we may be among His helpers in His time.

🔹اللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰ جَمِيعِ آبائِهِ، وَاجْعَلْنا مِنْ صَحْبِهِ وَأُسْرَتِهِ، وَابْعَثْنا فِى كَرَّتِهِ، حَتّىٰ نَكُونَ فِى زَمانِهِ مِنْ أَعْوانِهِ🤲
