أَ فَمَنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيانَهُ عَلى تَقْوى مِنَ اللهِ ‌ وَ رِضْوانٍ خَيْرٌ أَمْ مَنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيانَهُ عَلى شَفا جُرُفٍ هارٍ فَانْهارَ بِهِ في نارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَ اللهُ‌ لا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمينَ

﴿آيا كسى كه شالوده‌ی آن را بر تقواى الهى و خشنودى او بناكرده بهتر است، يا كسى‌ كه شالوده آن را بر كنار پرتگاه سستى بنا نموده كه ناگهان در آتش دوزخ فرو مى‌ريزد؟! و خداوند گروه ستمكاران را هدايت نمى‌كند.﴾

﴾Surah Mubaraka At-Tawbah, Verse 109﴿

1)💠 حُبَیْشِ‌بْنِ‌الْمُعْتَمِرِ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَی أَمِیرِ‌الْمُؤْمِنِینَ عَلِیِّ‌بْنِ‌أَبِی‌طَالِبٍ (علیه السلام) فَقُلْتُ السَّلَامُ عَلَیْکَ یَا أَمِیرَالْمُؤْمِنِینَ وَ رَحْمَهًُْ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَکَاتُهُ کَیْفَ أَمْسَیْتَ قَالَ أَمْسَیْتُ مُحِبّاً لِمُحِبِّنَا وَ مُبْغِضاً لِمُبْغِضِنَا وَ أَمْسَی مُحِبُّنَا مُغْتَبِطاً بِرَحْمَهًٍْ مِنَ اللَّهِ کَانَ یَنْتَظِرُهَا وَ أَمْسَی عَدُوُّنَا یُؤَسِّسُ بُنْیَانَهُ عَلَی شَفَا جُرُفٍ هَارٍ فَکَأَنَّ ذَلِکَ الشَّفَا قَدِ انْهَارَ بِهِ فِی نارِ جَهَنَّمَ.

⚜️Hubaysh ibn Mu‘tamir said: I went to Amir al-Mu'minin (peace be upon him) and said: "Peace be upon you, Amir al-Mu'minin, and the mercy and blessings of Allah. How did you spend the night?" The Imam replied: "I passed the night loving our friends and hostile toward our enemies. And our friend passed the night being envied due to the love he has for us and the mercy of Allah he awaits. But our enemy passed the night having placed himself beside a pit of fire, and this edge will cause him to fall into the Hellfire."

2)💠 عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ مِیثَمٍ التَّمَّارِ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ قَالَ: وَجَدْتُ فِی کِتَابِ مِیثَمٍ (رحمة الله علیه) یَقُولُ تَمَسَّیْنَا لَیْلَهًًْ عِنْدَ أَمِیرِالْمُؤْمِنِینَ عَلِیِّ‌بْنِ‌أَبِی‌طَالِبٍ (علیه السلام) فَقَالَ لَنَا لَیْسَ مِنْ عَبْدٍ امْتَحَنَ اللَّهُ قَلْبَهُ بِالْإِیمَانِ إِلَّا أَصْبَحَ یَجِدُ مَوَدَّتَنَا عَلَی قَلْبِهِ وَ لَا أَصْبَحَ عَبْدٌ سَخِطَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهِ إِلَّا یَجِدُ بُغْضَنَا عَلَی قَلْبِهِ فَأَصْبَحْنَا نَفْرَحُ بِحُبِّ الْمُحِبِّ لَنَا وَ نَعْرِفُ بُغْضَ الْمُبْغِضِ لَنَا وَ أَصْبَحَ مُحِبُّنَا مُغْتَبِطاً بِحُبِّنَا بِرَحْمَهًٍْ مِنَ اللَّهِ یَنْتَظِرُهَا کُلَّ یَوْمٍ وَ أَصْبَحَ مُبْغِضُنَا یُؤَسِّسُ بُنْیَانَهُ عَلَی شَفَا جُرُفٍ هَارٍ فَکَأَنَّ ذَلِکَ الشَّفَا قَدِ انْهَارَ بِهِ فِی نارِ جَهَنَّمَ.

⚜️Salih ibn Maytham al-Tammar said: I saw in the book of Maytham that he wrote: "One night we were with Amir al-Mu'minin (peace be upon him). He said to us: ‘There is no servant whose heart Allah has tested with faith except that he finds love for us in his heart. And there is no servant who is under the wrath of Allah except that he harbors hatred and enmity for us in his heart. We rejoice with the happiness of our friend, and we recognize the enmity of our enemy. Our beloved is envied due to the love he has for us and the mercy of Allah he awaits every day. Our enemy stands at the edge of a pit of Hellfire, and that edge will soon cause him to plunge into the Fire.’"

ا❁﷽❁ا

« وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُحِيطًا»

"And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and Allah is ever-Encompassing of all things."
(Surah An-Nisā’, Verse 126)


❇️ (125) The Blessed Title: ⚜️Al-Muḥīṭ/ المُحیط⚜️


✍️ One of the noble titles of our Master, Baqiyyatallah al-A‘ẓam (Arwahuna Fidah) is "Al-Muḥīṭ".
The sacred being of His Holiness is encompassing (Muḥīṭ) (1) over the entire circle of time and space, a witness over creation, and knowledgeable of what was and what will be.

As mentioned in the noble tawqī‘ (letter) issued from His Holiness:

⚜️ فَإِنَّا نُحِيطُ عِلْماً بِأَنْبَائِكُمْ وَ لَا يَعْزُبُ عَنَّا شَيْ‏ءٌ مِنْ أَخْبَارِكُم‏ (2):

"We have full knowledge and awareness of your affairs; nothing of your conditions is hidden from Us."

The Noble Messenger of Allah (PBUH&HF) also said:

⚜️ أَلا إنَّهُ وارِثُ کُلِ عِلْمٍ وَالمُحِیطُ بِهِ (3) :

"Be aware that the final Wasi (Successor) will inherit all knowledge, and He will have complete mastery over it."

🖋 And Imam Hasan al-‘Askari (PBUH), describing His son, said:

⚜️ اَلْمُحِيطُ بِمَا لَمْ يُعْلَنْ (4):
"He encompasses (is Muhit over) all that has not yet been revealed."

The Imam—the Avenger of the blood spilled in Karbala (Arwahuna Fidah)—is Muḥīṭ over of all that has neither been taught nor seen.
It is for this reason that in Ziyārat Nāḥiyah Muqaddasah, from His own blessed tongue, it has been narrated:

⚜️ «فلاَندُبنّک صباحا و مَساءاً و لاَبکیّنّ لَک بَدل الدّموع دماً»
"I shall mourn You morning and evening, and I shall weep for You blood instead of water."

3)💠 أمیرالمؤمنین (علیه السلام)- أَلَا وَ قَدْ قَتَلَ اللَّهُ فِرْعَوْنَ وَ هَامَانَ وَ خَسَفَ بِقَارُونَ وَ إِنَّمَا هَذَا مَثَلُ أَعْدَائِهِ الَّذِینَ غَصَبُوا حَقَّهُ فَأَهْلَکَهُمُ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ عَلِیٌّ (علیه السلام) عَلَی أَثَرِ هَذَا الْمَثَلِ الَّذِی ضَرَبَهُ وَ قَدْ کَانَ لِی حَقٌّ حَازَهُ دُونِی مَنْ لَمْ یَکُنْ لَهُ وَ لَمْ أَکُنْ أُشْرِکُهُ فِیهِ وَ لَا تَوْبَهًَْ لَهُ إِلَّا بِکِتَابٍ مُنَزَّلٍ أَوْ بِرَسُولٍ مُرْسَلٍ وَ أَنَّی لَهُ بِالرِّسَالَهًِْ بَعْدَ مُحَمَّدٍ (صلی الله علیه و آله) وَ لَا نَبِیَّ بَعْدَ مُحَمَّدٍ (صلی الله علیه و آله) فَأَنَّی یَتُوبُ وَ هُوَ فِی بَرْزَخِ الْقِیَامَهًِْ غَرَّتْهُ الْأَمَانِیُّ وَ غَرَّهُ بِاللَّهِ الْغَرُورُ وَ قَدْ أَشْفَی عَلَی جُرُفٍ هارٍ فَانْهارَ بِهِ فِی نارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَ اللهُ لا یَهْدِی الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِین.

⚜️ Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said: “…And likewise, Allah destroyed Pharaoh and Haman and caused Qarun to be swallowed into the earth. These are examples for His enemies — those who usurped His right — and Allah destroyed them. And then the Imam said: I had a right that someone took from me, someone who had no share in it, and I would not have partnered with him in it. His repentance would only be accepted through a Divine Book or a commissioned Prophet. But how is that possible when there is no prophet after Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family)? And how can he repent when he is in the barzakh of the Resurrection, deceived by false hopes? He is standing near the edge of a cliff and has built on it, and he will fall with it into the Fire of Hell. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.”

📜Exploring the Status of Jannat al-Baqi’ in the Verses of the Noble Qur’an and Hadiths

✔️Part One

🔰 Honoring Jannat al-Baqi’

🕌 In the verses of the Noble Qur’an and in narrations, there is great emphasis on honoring and venerating sacred places. Among the traditions that indicate the importance and greatness of honoring sacred sites and Jannat al-Baqi’, is a narration from the Seal of the Prophets (peace be upon him and his family), in which he addressed Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (peace be upon him), saying:


🖊 یا أَبَا الْحَسَنِ! إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَعَلَ قَبْرَکَ وَ قُبُورَ وُلْدِکَ بِقَاعاً مِنْ بِقَاعِ الْجَنَّةِ وَ عَرْصَةً مِنْ عَرَصَاتِهَا

وَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَعَلَ قُلُوبَ نُجَبَاءَ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ وَ صَفْوَةٍ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ تَحِنُّ إِلَیْکُمْ وَ تَحْتَمِلُ الْمَذَلَّةَ وَ الْأَذَى فِیکُمْ فَیَعْمُرُونَ قُبُورَکُمْ وَ یُکْثِرُونَ زِیَارَتَهَا تَقَرُّباً مِنْهُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَ مَوَدَّةً مِنْهُمْ لِرَسُولِهِ

أُولَئِکَ یَا عَلِیُّ الْمَخْصُوصُونَ بِشَفَاعَتِی وَ الْوَارِدُونَ حَوْضِی وَ هُمْ زُوَّارِی غَداً فِی الْجَنَّةِ ؛


▪️ O Aba al-Hasan! Verily, Allah has made your grave and the graves of your children among the gardens of Paradise and part of its courtyards.
▪️ And indeed, Allah has made the hearts of the noble among His creation and the elite among His servants long for you. They bear hardship and humiliation in your cause;
▪️ They maintain your graves and frequently visit them, seeking nearness to Allah and love for His Messenger.


🖊 یا عَلِیُّ ! مَنْ عَمَرَ قُبُورَکُمْ وَ تَعَاهَدَهَا فَکَأَنَّمَا أَعَانَ سُلَیْمَانَ بْنَ دَاوُدَ عَلَى بِنَاءِ بَیْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ
وَ مَنْ زَارَ قُبُورَکُمْ عَدَلَ ذَلِکَ لَهُ ثَوَابَ سَبْعِینَ حَجَّةً بَعْدَ حَجَّةِ الْإِسْلَامِ وَ خَرَجَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ حَتَّى یَرْجِعَ مِنْ زِیَارَتِکُمْ کَیَوْمَ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ
؛

▪️ O Ali! These are the ones granted my intercession, those who will arrive at my Fountain and will visit me tomorrow in Paradise.
▪️ O Ali! Whoever maintains your graves and keeps them honored, as if he aided Sulayman son of Dawud in building Bayt al-Maqdis;
▪️ And whoever visits your graves, it is like they have performed seventy Hajj pilgrimages after the obligatory Hajj of Islam. Upon returning from your visitation, they are cleansed of sins as if born anew.

🖊 فأَبْشِرْ وَ بَشِّرْ أَوْلِیَاءَکَ وَ مُحِبِّیکَ مِنَ النَّعِیمِ وَ قُرَّةِ الْعَیْنِ بِمَا لَا عَیْنٌ رَأَتْ وَ لَا أُذُنٌ سَمِعَتْ وَ لَا خَطَرَ عَلَى قَلْبِ بَشَرٍ

So rejoice and give glad tidings to your friends and lovers of bliss and joy of the eye—what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and has not occurred to the heart of any human.

🔰 Visiting the Imams of al-Baqi’: The Completion and Perfection of Hajj

🍃 The importance of visiting the grave of the Messenger of God, Hazrat Mohammad al-Mustafa (peace be upon him and his family), and the Imams of al-Baqi’ (peace be upon them) has long been recognized by people around the world. Before and after the Hajj season, pilgrims would visit the luminous grave of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and the Imams of al-Baqi’. Caravans would even come from distant lands, choosing long journeys just to attain the honor of visiting them.

🍃 This reality is emphasized in the words of Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (peace be upon him), who said:

«أتّموا برسول الله حجّكم إذا خَرجتم إلى بيت الله فإنَّ ترْكَه جفاءً و بذلك أُمرتم، و أتمّوا بالقبور التي ألزمكُم الله زیارت»؛

“Complete your Hajj by visiting the Messenger of God when you travel to the House of God, for abandoning his visitation is a form of disrespect. You have been commanded to do this. And complete your Hajj by visiting the graves which God has made obligatory upon you to visit.”

🍃 Therefore, what perfects and completes the Hajj—purifying the pilgrim from worldly stains—is the visitation and encounter with the pure and radiant graves of the Imams of al-Baqi’ (peace be upon them), where the pilgrim renews allegiance to his Imam and seeks sustenance from these sacred souls. The perfection of Hajj is realized in the truest sense through this visitation.

إِنَّ اللهَ‌ اشْتَرى مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنينَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَ أَمْوالَهُمْ بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ يُقاتِلُونَ في سَبيلِ اللهِ ‌ فَيَقْتُلُونَ وَ يُقْتَلُونَ وَعْداً عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا فِي التَّوْراةِ وَ الْإِنْجيلِ وَ الْقُرْآنِ وَ مَنْ أَوْفى بِعَهْدِهِ مِنَ اللهِ ‌ فَاسْتَبْشِرُوا بِبَيْعِكُمُ الَّذي بايَعْتُمْ بِهِ وَ ذلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظيمُ

Indeed Allah has bought from the faithful their souls and their possessions for paradise to be theirs: they fight in the way of Allah, kill, and are killed. A promise binding upon Him in the Torah and the Evangel and the Quran. And who is truer to his promise than Allah? So rejoice in the bargain you have made with Him, and that is the great success.

1)💠 عَنْ أَبِی‌مُحَمَّدٍ‌الْحَسَنِ‌بْنِ{عَلِیٍّ} الْعَسْکَرِیِّ (علیه السلام) عَنْ أَبِیهِ (علیه السلام) وَ ذَکَرَ أَنَّهُ (علیه السلام) زَارَ بِهَا فِی یَوْمِ الْغَدِیرِ ... وَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّکَ أَمِیرُ‌الْمُؤْمِنِینَ (علیه السلام) الْحَقُّ الَّذِی نَطَقَ بِوَلَایَتِکَ التَّنْزِیلُ وَ أَخَذَ لَکَ الْعَهْدَ عَلَی الْأُمَّهًِْ بِذَلِکَ الرَّسُولُ (صلی الله علیه و آله) وَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّکَ وَ عَمَّکَ وَ أَخَاکَ الَّذِینَ تَاجَرْتُمُ اللَّهَ بِنُفُوسِکُمْ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ فِیکُمْ إِنَّ اللهَ اشْتَری مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَ أَمْوالَهُمْ بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ یُقاتِلُونَ فِی سَبِیلِ اللهِ فَیَقْتُلُونَ وَ یُقْتَلُونَ وَعْداً عَلَیْهِ حَقًّا فِی التَّوْراةِ وَ الْإِنْجِیلِ وَ الْقُرْآنِ وَ مَنْ أَوْفی بِعَهْدِهِ مِنَ اللهِ فَاسْتَبْشِرُوا بِبَیْعِکُمُ الَّذِی بایَعْتُمْ بِهِ وَ ذلِکَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِیمُ، التَّائِبُونَ الْعابِدُونَ الْحامِدُونَ السَّائِحُونَ الرَّاکِعُونَ السَّاجِدُونَ الْآمِرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَ النَّاهُونَ عَنِ الْمُنْکَرِ وَ الْحافِظُونَ لِحُدُودِ اللهِ وَ بَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ.

⚜️According to Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him), it is narrated that his father, Imam al-Hadi (peace be upon him), on the day of Eid al-Ghadir, visited [Imam Ali (peace be upon him)] with the following words:

“I bear witness that you are the Commander of the Faithful — the very truth that the Qur’an spoke about regarding your guardianship, and for which the Prophet took a covenant from the Ummah on your behalf. I bear witness that you, your uncle, and your brother are those who sold their lives for the sake of Allah. And Allah revealed about you:

‘Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed. [It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Qur’an. And who is truer to His covenant than Allah? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment. [Such believers are] the repentant, the worshipers, the praisers [of Allah], the travelers [for His cause], those who bow and prostrate [in prayer], those who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and those who observe the limits [set by] Allah — and give good tidings to the believers.’

2)💠 علی‌بن‌إبراهیم (رحمة الله علیه)- وَ أَمَّا قَوْلُهُ إِنَّ اللهَ اشْتَرَی مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَ أَمْوالَهُمْ بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ: نَزَلَتْ فِی الْأَئِمَّهًِْ (علیهم السلام) فَالدَّلِیلُ عَلَی أَنَّ ذَلِکَ فِیهِمْ خَاصَّهًًْ حِینَ مَدَحَهُمْ وَ حَلَّاهُمْ وَ وَصَفَهُمْ بِصِفَهًٍْ لَا یَجُوزُ فِی غَیْرِهِمْ فَقَالَ التَّائِبُونَ الْعَابِدُونَ الْحَامِدُونَ السَّائِحُونَ الرَّاکِعُونَ السَّاجِدُونَ الْآمِرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَ النَّاهُونَ عَنِ الْمُنْکَرِ وَ الْحَافِظُونَ لِحُدُودِ اللهِ.

⚜️Ali ibn Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said regarding the verse:
"Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their wealth [in exchange] for Paradise":
This verse was revealed specifically about the Imams (peace be upon them). The reason it is specific to them is that Allah praises them in a manner and promises them a reward in a way that is not befitting of others. He describes them as:
"The repentant, the worshipers, the praisers [of Allah], the travelers [for His cause], those who bow and prostrate [in prayer], those who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and those who observe the limits [set by] Allah [are true believers]— and give good tidings to [such] believers...."
(Surat al-Tawbah, 9:112)
