According to information made available, the lady is said to reside in Iworoko Ododo.

The family explained that efforts are being made to reach her as part of arrangements surrounding the student’s final burial rites.

Members of the public have been urged to assist with useful information that could help locate her, while maintaining discretion and avoiding the spread of sensitive personal details.

The appeal emphasized that the primary objective is simply to locate the lady and establish contact with her for family discussions regarding the burial arrangements.

Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, has obtained full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for three additional academic programmes: Nursing Science, Adult Education, and English Language Education.

The approval was issued in a letter dated April 7, 2026, signed by Abraham Chundusu, Director of Accreditation, on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary. The document was released to the Kilonshele Media Team following an accreditation exercise conducted in October/November 2025.

This exercise evaluated the university's human and material resources to ensure compliance with the minimum academic standards required for the affected programmes. The accreditation is valid for five years, after which the programmes will be subject to reaccreditation.

Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, Vice Chancellor of EKSU, expressed satisfaction regarding this development, describing it as a significant step toward fulfilling the university's vision of academic excellence and innovation.

With this achievement, the total number of fully accredited programmes at EKSU has increased from 76 to 79, granting the institution 100% full accreditation status across all its programmes.

The Vice Chancellor also acknowledged the support provided by Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, the Governor of Ekiti State and Visitor to the University, as well as the University Governing Council and Senate, in achieving this milestone.

*SECOND SEMESTER RESUMPTION UPDATES*

*EKSU Senate Upholds 2025/2026 Academic Calendar, Second Semester Begins May 4*

The Senate of Ekiti State University (EKSU) has unanimously approved the continuation of the 2025/2026 academic calendar following its meeting held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
In line with the decision, the second semester is scheduled to commence on Monday, May 4, 2026.

The Senate directed all Deans to ensure that lectures begin immediately across all faculties.

The university also confirmed that academic activities will run concurrently with the ongoing Computer-Based Examinations (CBE).
The previously approved academic calendars remain in effect, and Deans have been instructed to disseminate the information to both staff and students without delay.

Nursing Professional Examination has been scheduled to hold in EKSU on the 5th and 6th May, 2026. This external examination takes precedence over our local examinations and we need Monday, 4th May to prepare our system ready for the examination.

Arising from the above, CBE courses slated for Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th, have been postponed. A reworked timetable reflecting the changes will be made available tomorrow.

Students therefore need not show up for any examination at the CBE centre on Monday and Tuesday.

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Ekiti State University Students' Union effort Government towards addressing insecurity and robbery incidents affecting students has attracted a major intervention from the Chancellor of Ekiti State University.

In a philanthropic gesture aimed at improving security and enhancing the welfare of students residing around the university environment, transformers have been donated to strategic areas within the school community to restore and improve electricity supply.

The intervention is believed to be a direct response to the sustained advocacy and proactive engagements of the SUG leadership concerning the growing concerns over insecurity and robbery cases in student-dominated areas, especially those affected by poor electricity supply.

Students and residents have commended the Chancellor for the timely intervention, describing the gesture as a significant step towards improving safety, visibility, and general living conditions within the EKSU environment.
