Oxford University administrators called police officers on students taking part in an encampment in solidarity with Palestine on Thursday morning.

Several police vans, 14 police cars and at least 31 policemen reportedly arrived outside the university’s offices in Wellington Square where the pro-Palestinian student protesters were camped. At least 14 students were arrested inside the building while 2 were kept in police vans, according to protesters at the scene.

Student protestors have blocked the entrances to the building in an attempt to prevent arrests.
“For 76 years, Israel had a narrative more robust as a protective shield than any Iron Dome.

For the victims of the worst case of industrial killing in modern history, self-determination for post-Holocaust Jewry was not just a necessity, this narrative went, it was a moral imperative. Any state that emerged was immune from judgement, the story went.

For 76 years, Israel literally had a licence to kill. Until Monday.
The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) did much more than apply for arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant. The ICC punctured the myth that any Israeli leader, official or soldier was beyond the reach of international law."

🎥 “While Harvard punishes its pro-Palestine students, the ongoing Nakba in Gaza represents the very worst of the status quo"

In a graduation speech, a Harvard student slammed his university for refusing to confer degrees on 13 students for their participation in a pro-Palestine encampment. The student also used his speech to encourage his fellow classmates to continue struggling for pro-Palestinian rights
📰 Human rights groups in the Netherlands have filed a criminal complaint against the hotel broker site Bookingcom for possible war crimes, alleging it benefitted from listings in Israeli settlements within occupied Palestinian territories.

Dutch prosecutors confirmed they received the complaint filed by the European Legal Support Centre (ELSC), Al Haq, Somo and the Rights Forum on Thursday.

The collective of groups accused Bookingcom of laundering money in the Netherlands from its business operations in the occupied West Bank.

Bookingcom has denied the claims and said there are no laws prohibiting listings in Israeli settlements, adding that various US state laws would prohibit divesting from the region.

🎥 Over a dozen students were arrested at Oxford University on Thursday, after police cracked down on a protest in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

For the past two weeks, Oxford students have launched protests and an encampment, demanding the university end investments in and partnerships with companies and institutions involved in Israel's war on Gaza, and its occupation of Palestinian land
The Rafah crossing between Egypt and Gaza has been closed indefinitely since the Israeli military seized the crossing on 7 May, a closure which has left thousands of Palestinians in limbo.

Since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza, and the subsequent closure of all other crossings, the Rafah crossing has been the only passageway for civilians fleeing.

An Egyptian company with exclusive control on exits and transfers via the terminal had been charging Palestinians at least $5,000 per adult and $2,500 per child to cross to the Egyptian side.

In April, Hala Consulting and Tourism Services, made at least $2m per day from Palestinians, MEE has revealed.

Now, those who were due to travel in May after paying thousands of dollars in advance have no clear means of getting a refund.

🎥 “There are more important things than the fighting"

The father of Nimrod Cohen, an Israeli soldier taken hostage on 7 October by Hamas, attended a protest outside the Defence Ministry in Tel Aviv to demand a hostage deal.

The protest followed the release of a video by a forum of Israeli hostage family members, which shows the abduction and interrogation of seven female Israeli soldiers by Palestinian fighters
Spain, Ireland and Norway announced on Wednesday that they will formally recognise a Palestinian state, joining over 140 United Nations member states that have recognised its statehood over the past four decades.

According to Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris, other European countries are expected to follow suit. In recent weeks, Slovenia and Malta have indicated that they plan to make the same move.

Palestine and the Holy See are the only two states with observer status at the UN.

Over half of the 50 or so countries who have yet to recognise a Palestinian state are in Europe.

Oxford University doubled down on its crackdown on pro-Palestinian demonstrators, accusing students of using “direct action tactics” that required a police response.

In a letter sent to students and staff on Thursday, the university accused student protestors of making “inaccurate statements and claims” about the institution, and “forcibly overpowering” the receptionist at a section of the university offices in Wellington Square.

According to Oxford Action for Palestine, students launched a peaceful sit-in on Thursday morning in the office building to demand that the university administration - which has yet to negotiate - meet with the protesters.

The group said in a statement that instead of engaging in dialogue, the university’s vice chancellor placed the building under lockdown and called the police.

🎥 Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, expressed support for Palestine "from the river to the sea" in a meeting with Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh. He also expressed that the elimination of Israel is a God's "promise" that will be fulfilled.

"God's first promise has come true for you, that is, a small group has overcome a large group; you are a small number who have been able to overcome many groups, including the US, NATO, England and many others," Khamenei said.

Iran’s supreme leader made these comments during a meeting in Tehran with Hamas’ top leader on Wednesday, attended by acting President Mohammad Mokhber, who assumed the presidency after Ebrahim Raisi's death in a helicopter crash near the Azerbaijan border

The European Union border assistance mission to the Rafah crossing point, EUBAM Rafah, in short, has reportedly been in talks with US officials to take over the administration of the Rafah crossing, which has been closed since Israel invaded Rafah on 7 May.

“EUBAM Rafah is mandated to provide a Third-Party Presence at the Rafah Crossing Point (RCP). In its current stand-by mode, EUBAM Rafah supports enhanced capacity of Palestinian Authority border agencies,” its mission statement reads.

EUBAM Rafah was previously in charge of monitoring the crossing from 2005 to June 2007, when it announced a temporary suspension of operations after Egypt closed the crossing following Hamas’s takeover of the Gaza Strip
