Support to emergency response and planning
Collect and analyze data and background information in support of emergency analysis, risk assessments, and updates. Review the appropriateness and completeness of financial and supply documentation as well as adherence to established allotments.
Draft regular and emergency implementation reports in consultation with CFO, project officers, program and operational sections. Edits reports before submitting them ensuring that they satisfy appropriate UNICEF guidelines, and clear written and match funding utilization agreements and guidelines.
Reports the emergency response analysis and proposes a corrective plan of action.
Information management, monitoring, and delivery of results
Produce monthly situation reports (sitrep) and updates to ZMT related to the humanitarian assistance and emergency responses in Amhara Region following the standard reporting scheme/format being revised.
Collates, verifies, and circulates as required, all UNICEF regional reports and sitreps and makes adequate follow-up of urgent points of action.
Maintains a good archive of all internal and external documents received, both hard & electronic copies. Organize the most relevant documents for the local intranet, EW/DP home page, facilities access all UNICEF sections.
Organizes an effective database of useful tools and information on emerging issues, references documents, publications, etc. in collaboration with the Communication Section.
Technical and operational support to emergency response implementation
Participates in humanitarian assistance monitoring missions as required, gathered information to be included in reports. Participate in donor visitations to project sites and documents project site reports.
Participates in field office level emergency meetings, cluster coordination meetings and develops minutes, and undertakes follow-up actions.
Participants in other report writing functions and missions assigned by the CFO.
Participates in multisectoral humanitarian needs assessments and develops reports.
Networking and partnership building
Build and sustain effective working partnerships with different sector government counterparts and UNICEF programs and sections to enhance active information sharing and knowledge to deliver concrete and sustainable results.
Draft emergency communication and information materials for the field office emergency response advocacy.
Innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building
Devise/facilitate and support capacity-building sessions to FO staff to enhance the quality of reports produced.

UN Women Ethiopia Country Office and the Peace and Development Centre welcome submissions of abstracts to be presented at a workshop under the theme The Women, Peace and Security Agenda: Enhanced Participation of Women in Peace and Conflict Resolution in Ethiopia. The workshop will tentatively take place from 22 to 23 November 2021 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The workshop aims to create a platform for key stakeholders to discuss and gain knowledge on the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. Its target audience are representatives of government entities, international and local CSOs and women’s groups and the media. The workshop’s objective is to increase the participants’ understanding of UNSCR 1325 and the WPS agenda; raise awareness of the importance of having a WPS National Action Plan (NAP) in place; and to ensure that the participants have increased awareness regarding the criticality of women’s participation as effective leaders and peace builders for lasting peace. The workshop serves as a platform for different actors to envision a future where women and men equally participate in and are served by peacekeeping, peace building, conflict prevention and recovery efforts and to identify their respective roles in implementing the WPS agenda.
Researchers, policy makers and practitioners on peace, security, conflict resolution, gender equality and women’s empowerment are welcome to submit original research or discussion papers or case studies to the workshop.
The abstracts of research papers, discussion papers or academic case studies are expected to focus on one or more of the following themes and sub-themes. Papers with a focus on Ethiopia are highly encouraged.
The normative framework on Women, Peace and Security nationally and internationally
Status of awareness and utilization of the WPS Agenda and the UNSCR 1325 framework in Ethiopia.

All abstracts must be submitted by 28 October 2021. Presenters shall give due attention to the key dates and deadlines for preparation and submission of papers as strict adherence is expected.
The informative abstract shall present a short summary of your presentation. The abstract to the paper shall not exceed 350 words in length and must be submitted in English. Do not include figures, charts, literature reviews and bibliographies in the abstract. The abstract must at least have the following headings:

Submitting an Abstract
All abstracts must be submitted by 28 October 2021. Presenters shall give due attention to the key dates and deadlines for preparation and submission of papers as strict adherence is expected.
The informative abstract shall present a short summary of your presentation. The abstract to the paper shall not exceed 350 words in length and must be submitted in English. Do not include figures, charts, literature reviews and bibliographies in the abstract. The abstract must at least have the following headings:
Introduction
Objective
Methodology
Findings and conclusion
Submissions that do not adhere to the requested format may be returned to the authors for re-submission.
