The Importance of Backtesting
Backtesting is one of the most crucial aspects of trading. To trust your system, you need data. From my perspective, if you don’t have data on your strategy (model), you are not a trader—you are a pure gambler.
As a trader, you should know your win rate, average profit/loss, ideal risk-reward ratio, and similar metrics. Backtesting not only provides these metrics but also builds confidence in your strategy. Once you are confident and believe in your edge (thanks to the data you've gathered), trading becomes much less stressful.

Instead of buying another prop firm account just to blow it, you should get the premium version of a backtesting app. One thing I can guarantee is that through backtesting, you will either realize your strategy is trash or that it actually works.

Unfortunately, I will be inactive again because of my university schedule. I’ll be at university during NY session (Q3), which is when most of my models show up.
I’ll be back within 3 months.In order not to forget everything I’ve learned in trading so far, I’ll be backtesting at night.
