The Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic officially denied that the Kyrgyz side used drones and blamed the Tajik Border Service for the incident, which used mortars, grenade launchers and heavy military equipment. Here is the full text of the appeal.

The Border Service of the State Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic expresses extreme concern about the development of the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border.

Recently, the Kyrgyz side has noted an increase in the number of provocations at the state border, while the Tajik authorities have not made any efforts to stabilize the situation. Moreover, they contributed to its escalation. An example of this is the incident with the closure of the highway by citizens of Tajikistan, which occurred on January 27, 2022 on the section of the Batken-Isfana highway in the Torte-Kocho area of the Batken district.

According to the results of negotiations between the border representatives of the two states, the incident was settled and the citizens of Tajikistan opened the highway.

However, Tajik border guards used weapons and were the first to open fire on Kyrgyz servicemen.

The Border Guard Service of the State Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic declares that this incident is a provocation, the responsibility for which is entirely assigned to the leadership of the State Security Committee of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The Tajik side deliberately provoked the incident and clashes, which led to casualties on both sides.

At the same time, Tajikistan distorts information about the use of unmanned aerial vehicles. It was Tajik border guards who recently used UAVs for reconnaissance purposes on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, which was brought to the attention of the leadership of the State Security Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The Border Service of the State Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic also notes the pulling together of military equipment, weapons, forces and means by the Tajik side to the border with Kyrgyzstan.

Of particular concern is the fact that instead of strengthening the Tajik-Afghan section of the border, where there is a concentration of about 8,000 militants of terrorist organizations, the Tajik side is determined to escalate conflicts on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
The Border Service of the State Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic calls on the Tajik side to cease fire and settle problematic issues at the negotiating table.
