𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐟 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩

The righteous predecessors [as-Salaf aṣ-Ṣāliḥ] used to strive in completing their deeds with excellence and perfection. Then, even after that, they would still worry about whether their deeds were accepted or rejected. These are the ones described in the verse:

“𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 [𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆] 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 [𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀] 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿 [𝘄𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁], 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱 [𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴].” [𝖲𝗎̄𝗋𝖺𝗁 𝖺𝗅－𝖬𝗎’𝗆𝗂𝗇𝗎̄𝗇 𝟨𝟢]

This is the state of the believer with acts of obedience, and his condition upon completing them.

al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī [رحمه الله] said:
“𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿 [𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻], 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝘆𝗽𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆.”

They [as-Salaf aṣ-Ṣāliḥ] were more concerned about the acceptance of their deeds than the deeds themselves, as Allāh said [that which means]:
“𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗱, 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗮̄𝗵 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 [𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗺].” [𝖲𝗎̄𝗋𝖺𝗁 𝖺𝗅－𝖬𝖺̄’𝗂𝖽𝖺𝗁 𝟤𝟩]

Abū Dardāʾ [رضي الله عنه] said:
“𝗜𝗳 𝗜 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗮̄𝗵 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗺𝗲, 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘁.”

So ask Allāh, The Most High, to accept what you have done of righteous deeds, and to grant you steadfastness upon them until death.

‎𝗗𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝘆: “𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙪𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩” 𝗼𝗿 “𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚” 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

⚠️ We ended up oversubscribed & so we sincerely apologise to some brothers who signed up on the online form but we couldn’t accommodate.

❗️This is a new location this time and so it has been organised with a capacity limit.

⚠️ If you have not been added to the WhatsApp group then please accept our humble apologies, we simply could not accommodate everyone who signed up in the end.

❗️We politely and kindly request that the campfire event capacity is respected and that only brothers who have been added into the WhatsApp group attend; we have an agreement with the land manager and simply cannot add anyone else regrettably and we will not be in a position to allow further brothers to join us who turn up on the day.

Alhamdulillah the majority who signed up have been confirmed, but like we said, regrettably we simply couldn’t accommodate everyone as it did end up oversubscribed, and some brothers will be left disappointed.
