The pie charts compare the population of the world and people’s expenditure in terms of their regions and education in 2000.
Overall, the majority of the people lived in Asian Pacific, exceeding the other regions significantly. When it comes to educational expenditures, while highschool received the largest amount of funds, the reverse is true for further education.
Focusing on the distribution of the world population, while over a half (54%) of the world population lived in Asian Pacific in 2000, Europe ranked second with 11 %. Africa and Latin America & Caribbean together populated about one fifth of the overall world population, however, the figures for North America and Middle East & North Africa were only 7 and 6 % respectively. In contrast, merely 3 % of the remaining people lived in other regions of the world.
As for the expenditure patterns on education in 2000 in the world, primary and secondary education required the same amount of funding, at just over a quarter each. However, a staggering sum of money was expended on a highschool level, with one third of total expenditure being allocated for it. Lastly, University and further education received 15 % of the overall educational budget collaboratively.

In the first years of 2010s, while I just started teaching as a tutor, my friends and acquaintances felt like this profession didn't have future and opted for teaching at schools and universities instead. They thought working at an education center is just killing the time and doesn't give you any work experience. As a result, you cannot have a proper pension after you retire.
I thought and felt shame as men in early 20s were thinking about the life after 60 when they would depend on those pension funds for survival.
Instead, I continued working as a private teacher and constantly improving my skills. Now, after more than a decade, I am teaching children of those people who chose school and university jobs. Most of them say they want their children to be educated so that they won't end up like their parents and live paycheck to paycheck.
Actually, 10 years before, they acted cowardly and made themselves live this unhappy life which blames this discomfort on the system of the government.
