i. 03 (three) bolt action Single barrel guns,
ii. 01 (one) .22 pistol,
iii. 04 (four) 9mm pistols,
iv. 01 (one) .22 pistol magazine, and
v. 04 (four) 9mm pistol magazines.

Security forces continue to conduct search operations and area domination in the fringe and vulnerable areas across districts resulting in recovery of arms and ammunition:
Movement of 636 vehicles carrying essential items along NH-37 has been ensured. Strict security measures are taken up in all vulnerable locations and security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles.
A total of 117 Nakas/Check points were installed in different districts of Manipur, both in the hills and the valley.

On 17.05.2026, security forces arrested 02 (two) active cadres of KYKL from different locations under Lamphel-PS, Imphal West district:
i) Sorokhaibam Priyochand Singh alias Sajao (39) of Iram Siphai Mamang Leikai, Imphal West district, arrested from the proximity of RIMS, and
ii) Moirangthem Naobi Singh (47) of Uripok Takhellambam Leikai, Imphal West district, arrested from his residence.
From their possession, the following were seized:
i) 02 (two) mobile phones, and
ii) 01 (one) Aadhaar card.

On 17.05.2026, security forces arrested an active cadre of UNLF (Koireng), one Thangjam Dhamendra Singh alias Wayenba alias Volume (26) of Leirongthel Pitra, Thoubal district from Yairipok Bazar area under Yairipok-PS, Thoubal district. He was involved in the illegal sale/trafficking of arms and ammunition.
From his possession, the following were seized:
i) 01 (one) 9 mm magazine,
ii) 01 (one) mobile phone along with 02 (two) SIM cards,
iii) 01 one) power bank along with USB cable,
iv) 01 (one) ATM card.

A brief localized standoff took place on the afternoon of May 18, 2026, along the sensitive Sonarhat-Lyngkhat border sector adjoining Sylhet.

The Incident: Tensions allegedly escalated when Border Security Force (BSF) troops detected unauthorized cross-border movement and took firm, defensive measures to safeguard vital border infrastructure projects near border pillar 1267/2-S.

The Exchange: Elements from the 48th Battalion Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) allegedly initiated retaliatory warning shots, drawing a controlled and precise response from the BSF deployment to secure the immediate perimeter.

On-Ground Status: No casualties or structural damages were reported on either side during the brief tactical friction.

Resolution: Field commanders from both forces immediately activated bilateral border communication protocols to successfully de-escalate the situation.

The sector has completely returned to calm, with BSF maintaining intensive area domination and maximum alert to prevent any further unilateral provocations.

On May 18, 2026, Kadamtala Police executed a successful anti-narcotics operation in the West Bagan area, striking a major blow to regional drug trafficking networks.
The Recovery: Acting on credible intelligence, a joint team led by the Kadamtala PS Officer-in-Charge, a DCM, and independent witnesses raided a local residence, seizing 48,750 YABA tablets weighing 5.5 kg.
Valuation: The seized contraband carries an estimated black-market value of approximately ₹2.5 crore.
Legal Action: The suspects were arrested on the spot, and a specific case has been registered under the NDPS Act for further investigation.
North Tripura District Police remains heavily deployed to dismantle cross-border drug supply lines and maintain zero tolerance against trafficking.

Mega Narcotic Bust: Methamphetamine Worth ₹19.2 Crore Seized in Mizoram
On May 18, 2026, Saitual Police dealt a major blow to cross-border drug syndicates by intercepting a massive consignment of contraband transit at the Keifang junction outskirts.
The Interception: Acting on strong suspicion, a white Tata Nexon (ML-05-V-3282) traveling from Manipur toward Aizawl was intercepted and subjected to a thorough search.

The Seizure: Police recovered 202,000 Methamphetamine tablets weighing 24.016 kg, expertly concealed in black polythene beneath the spare tyre compartment and mudguards. The seized contraband is valued at ₹19.21 crore.

Arrests Made: Two traffickers from Manipur—Th Onkhothang Haokip (33, Moreh) and Mathew (46, Churachandpur)—were arrested on the spot.

Legal Action: Saitual Police have impounded the vehicle and registered a formal case under Sections 22(c)/25/29 of the NDPS Act for further investigation into the supply network.
