Innovators are those people who introduce new things in Islam #biddat

"WILL ALLAH PUNISH ME FOR PRAYING?"

Now there are some people who are involved in Biddah (innovation) and say, "I can fast or pray. Allah won’t punish me for performing an act of Ibadah." — Such people should know that any act of ibadah (salah, fast, umrah, sacrificing, zakat etc) won’t be accepted unless it is purely based on Qur’an or Sunnah.

People should read this incident. An incident that occurred to Sa'id ibn ul-Musayyib (رحمة الله) from the Salaf.

It is a perfect response to the people of biddah.

BIDDAT – Do Not Take It Lightly 🚫

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

"The most evil matters are those that are newly invented, for every newly invented matter is an innovation and every innovation is misguidance and every misguidance is in the Hellfire."

📚: An Nasai 1578 | Sahih

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

"Whoever innovates something into this matter of ours (Islam) which does not belong to it will have it rejected."

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"Whoever sets a good precedent in Islam will have the reward for that and the reward of those who do it after him, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.

And whoever sets a bad precedent in Islam will bear the burden of sin for that, and the burden of those who do it after him, without that detracting from their burden in the slightest."

Adhering To The Sunnah And Staying Away From Innovation 🍂

Irbad bin Sariyah (رضى الله عنه) said: One day, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up among us and delivered a deeply moving speech to us that melted our hearts and caused our eyes to overflow with tears.

It was said to him: "O Messenger of Allah, you have delivered a speech of farewell, so enjoin something upon us."

He (ﷺ) said: "I urge you to fear Allah, and to listen and obey (your leader), even if (your leader) is an Abyssinian slave. After I am gone, you will see great conflict. I urge you to adhere to my Sunnah and the path (sunnah) of the Khulafa ar-Rashideen (Rightly-Guided Caliphs), and cling stubbornly to it. And beware of newly-invented matters, for every innovation is a going astray."

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمة الله) said:

"As for inventing a Salah that comprises of a specific number of rakat where a specific number of verses are recited at a specific time and is prayed as an optional prayer congregationally like the following salawat (prayers): “Ṣalāt ar-Raghā`ib that is prayed on the first Jumu’ah of Rajab, or the al-Alfiyyah (i.e. the 100 rakaat Salah wherein Surah al-Ikhlas is recited 1000 times) that is prayed in the beginning of Rajab, or the 15th of Shaban, or the 27th night of Rajab and others like this, then this was not legislated by consensus of the Imams of Islam as stated by the ‘Ulamā’ who are reliable. No one will invent such a Salah except that is ignorant and is an innovator."

Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez Ibn Bāz (رحمة الله) said:

Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez Ibn Bāz (رحمه الله) said:

"What the majority of Muslim scholars agreed upon is that the celebration of Mid-Sha'ban night is Bid'ah and that the Hadiths reported regarding the virtue of this night are all weak and some of them are fabricated."

Yes. True Love for the Prophet (ﷺ) is NOT by innovated manifestations (celebrating the Prophet (ﷺ) birthday) in the religion of Allah. The ONLY TRUE manifestation of love for the Prophet (ﷺ) is FOLLOWING HIM."

DO NOT TAKE BIDDAH LIGHTLY ❗️

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

"Some of my companions will come to me at Al-Ḥauḍ (Al-Kauthar) and after I recognize them, they will then be taken away from me, where upon I will say: 'My companions!'

Then it will be said: 'You do not know what they innovated (new things) in the religion after you.'"

BEWARE OF PARTICIPATING IN ANY KIND OF BIDDAH IN THE MONTH OF RAJAB ❗️

Hafiz Ibn Rajab (رحمه الله) said:

"As for fasting, then nothing has been authentically narrated from the Prophet (ﷺ) regarding the virtue of fasting Rajab particularly, nor has it been narrated from his companions."

📚: Lataif al-Ma’arif, pg. 228

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymin (رحمة الله) said:

"There is no sahih hadith that speaks of the virtues of Rajab. The month of Rajab is no different from the month of Jumada al-Akhirah that comes before it, except that it is one of the sacred months only. Otherwise, there is no fast that is prescribed in this month, and no prayer or umrah or anything else that is prescribed. It is like all other months."

TOUCHING EARLOBES While Saying Takbir In Prayers IS BIDDAH 🚫

Shaykh Zubair Ibn Zai (رحمة الله) said:

"He (ﷺ) used to raise both his hands up to his shoulders [Sahih Bukhari 736]. And this is also proven that he (ﷺ) would raise his hands up to his earlobes (ears) [Sahih Muslim 391 (865, 866)].

Therefore, it is permissible to do both ways, but in most of the ahadeeth we find the proof of doing it up to the shoulders. It should be noted that it is not proven from any proof to hold the ear or touch the ears while raising the hands. This (distinction) is also not proven that the men should raise them up to their ears, and the women up to their shoulders."
