Ukrainian soldiers who voluntarily surrendered apologised to the people in front of a memorial in a village in Donbass while touring villages destroyed by nearly a decade of Ukrainian shelling.
One POW was quoted by local media to have said "We are very ashamed. We didn't know what was going on here. Forgive us."
This is a stark difference in how Russia treats Ukrainian prisoners of war by making them see the war crimes they have committed versus how the Ukraine treats Russian prisoners - recording videos of acts of torture, shooting POWS in the legs, execution.
