๐ Interview with G.V. Zinoviev, Director of the First Asian Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry , RIA Novosti ( September 9, 2023 )

โข Companies from China are quickly filling the niches that have become vacant in our market after the departure of a number of Western players. In total, the portfolio of the Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission on Investment Cooperation includes dozens of projects with a planned investment volume of more than $160 billion, all of which are under active development.
โข The share of national currencies in Russian-Chinese payments is growing at an extremely rapid pace: if at the beginning of 2022 it was about 25%, then currently it is already over 80%. Trading in the ruble/yuan pair on the Moscow Exchange has long exceeded the volume of trading in the US dollar.
โข China takes a balanced position in the context of the events taking place in Ukraine and understands well the historical and geopolitical reasons for the crisis. We appreciate the desire of China and other states to play a positive role in the peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis. More than 20 countries and a number of regional organizations have already come up with similar initiatives.
๐ท๐บ๐ฐ๐ต #ะ ะพััะธัะะะะ
โข The DPRK officially recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, and then the results of referendums on the entry of the LPR, DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions into the Russian Federation. The leaders of our countries, during the exchange of friendly messages, have repeatedly confirmed the similarity of the approaches of Russia and the DPRK to assessing the causes of the current geopolitical crisis.
โข The high level of bilateral relations contributes to the creation of very favorable conditions for deepening our interaction, including in the trade and economic sphere. Unfortunately, we have to admit that the potential for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation is far from being fully realized, not least due to the fact that bilateral exchanges have been hampered for a long time by restrictive measures due to the pandemic
