Brentford want a minimum guaranteed fee of £50 million. Man United's offer of up to £55 million in add-ons, didn't meet that.

Most first bids don't get accepted in transfers, so Man United are still confident of signing Bryan Mbeumo.

To avoid a bidding war, Man United waited for Bryan Mbeumo to communicate his desire to join the club. Therefore other suitors have backed off.

Brentford would want add-ons to be more player-specific as opposed to team-based add-ons like Champions League qualification etc. The selling club tends to want this as they know the player and have more confidence in them.

on Bryan Mbeumo's rumoured wage demands: "This £250,000 is not a number I've heard specifically. It's not to say it's wrong, but Man United haven't got so far in this transfer journey yet to hear such specific demands."
