ADVISORY NOTES:

1. These are the Adhkār to be said after the OBLIGATORY PRAYERS.

2. If you want to memorise them easily, I recommend listening to this clip and following along after every OBLIGATORY PRAYER. If you do this daily for 2-3 weeks, you will memorise them effortlessly inshā Allāh.

3. Get the little ones involved, because:
الحفظ في الصغر كالنقش في الحجر
"Memorising at a young age is like engraving on stone"
and you will also be rewarded every time they say these Adhkār.

EXPLANATION OF THE
LĀMIYYAH OF IBN TAYMIYYAH

LINE 4:

Shaykhul Islām ibn Taymiyyah, may Allāh have mercy on him, said:

وَلِـكُـلِّـهِـمْ قَـدْرٌ عَـلَا وَفَـضَـائِـلٌ

And each one of them has a lofty standing and possesses noble virtues

However, Aṣ-Ṣiddīq is the most virtuous of them all

1. Each and every Ṣahābī, whether they be from Ahlul Bayt or not, holds a lofty status and possesses noble virtues; the least of which is, the virtue of Aṣ-Ṣuḥbah (companionship).

The significance of this virtue is outlined in the statement of the Prophet ﷺ:

((لا تسبوا أصحابي، فوالذي نفس محمد بيده، لو أنفق أحدكم مثل أُحد ذهبا ما بلغ مُدّ أحدهم ولا نصيفه))

"Do not revile my Companions; for by Him in Whose hand my soul is, if one of you contributed the amount of gold equivalent to Uḥud, it would not amount to as much as the mudd of one of them, or half of it."
[ḥadīth Abū Sa'īd; Bukhāri]

Imām Aḥmad, may Allāh have mercy on him, said:
"Anyone who accompanied the Prophet ﷺ (while believing in him), whether that was for a year, a month, a day, an hour, or just caught a glimpse of him, then he is considered to be one of his companions...and the least of them in companionship is better than those of the following generation who did not see him (ﷺ), and however much good they (the later generation) were to meet Allāh with, they will never be better than any companion of the Prophet ﷺ...even those who only accompanied him for a short period of time."
[Sharḥ Uṣūl As-Sunnah of Al-Lālakā'ī 4/1337]

Similarly, As-Sa'dī mentions in his tafsīr of the statement of Allāh:
{وَكُلࣰّا وَعَدَ اللهُ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ}
"and to all, Allāh has promised the best (reward)."
[Sūrat Al-Ḥadīd 10]

"This indicates the virtue of all of the Ṣaḥābah, may Allāh be pleased them all; because (in this Āyah) Allāh attested to their faith and promised them all Paradise."

2. The virtues & merits of the Ṣaḥābah are of two types:

(1) - General virtues; in that they are the most virtuous of this Ummah after the Prophet ﷺ; and this is what has preceded.

(2) - Virtues that are specific to some, over others; for example:

A: According to Ahlus-Sunnah, the Muhājirūn are better than the Anṣār (generally speaking); because they combined between Hijrah (migration) and An-Nuṣrah (aiding the Prophet ﷺ), unlike the Anṣār - who did not perform Hijrah. Hence, whenever the two are mentioned together in the Qur'ān, Allāh begins with the Muhājirūn; see, [Sūrat At-Tawbah 100], [Sūrat At-Tawbah 117], [Sūrat Al-Ḥashr 8-10]

B. The first of them to embrace Islām are greater in rank than those who embraced Islām afterwards; see, [Sūrat At-Tawbah 100]

C. Those who spent and fought before the pledge of Ḥudaybiyyah are greater in rank than those who spent and fought afterwards; see [Sūrat Al-Ḥadīd 100]

D. Those who took part in the battle of Uḥud are greater in rank than those who witnessed the pledge of Ar-Riḍhwān; the pledge of Ar-Riḍhwān refers to Āyah 18 of Sūratul Fat-ḥ.

E. Those who witnessed the battle of Badr are greater in rank than those who witnessed the battle of Uḥud.

F. The ten who were promised Paradise are greater in Rank than those who witnessed the battle of Badr.

F. The Four rightly guided Caliphs are the greatest from amongst the ten who were promised Paradise.

G. Abū Bakr is the greatest from amongst the four rightly guided Caliphs; that means, he is the greatest Ṣaḥābī; which means, he is the greatest man from amongst this Ummah (after the Prophet ﷺ).

This brings us to the next matter of Belief mentioned in this poem...
The author, may Allāh have mercy on him, said:

لَـكِـنَّـمَـا الـصِّـدِّيـقُ مِـنْـهُـمْ أَفْـضَـلُ

However, Aṣ-Ṣiddīq is the most virtuous of them all

1. What's his name?
His name is 'Abdullāh ibn 'Uthmān ibn 'Āmir At-Taymī. Abū Bakr is his kunyah.

2. Why was he known as Aṣ-Ṣiddīq?
As soon as he heard about the Prophet's message he immediately embraced Islām without any hesitation.

Abud-Dardā' reported that the prophet ﷺ said:

((إِنَّ اللهَ بَعَثَنِي إِلَيْكُمْ فَقُلْتُمْ كَذَبْتَ‏.‏ وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ صَدَقَ‏.‏ وَوَاسَانِي بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ))

"Allāh sent me (as a Prophet) to you (people) but you said (to me), 'You are telling a lie,' while Abū Bakr said, 'He has said the truth,' and consoled me with himself and his money."
[Bukhāri]

3. There are numerous evidences showing the excellence and superiority of Abū Bakr; here are some:

(1) The Prophet ﷺ said:

"If I were to have taken anyone of my Ummah as a close friend, I would have surely taken Abū Bakr as a close friend."
[Bukhāri & Muslim]

(2) 'Amr ibnul 'Ās said: I asked the Prophet ﷺ: Who is the most beloved person to you? He said: 'A'ishah. I said: Among the men? He said: Her father (i.e. Abū Bakr). I said: Who next? He said: 'Umar. He then named some other men.
[Bukhāri & Muslim]

(3) The prophet ﷺ gave him glad tidings of Jannah.

Abū Mūsā Al-Ash'arī reported that he was once in the company of the Prophet (ﷺ) in one of the gardens of Madīnah when a man came and asked permission to enter. The Prophet (ﷺ) said,
"Open the gate for him and give him the glad tidings of entering Paradise."
I went, and behold! It was Abū Bakr. So I opened the gate for him and informed him of the glad tidings of entering Paradise..."
[Bukhāri & Muslim]

(4) Abū Bakr's companionship is established in the Qur'ān; see [Sūrat At-Tawbah 40]

(5) 'A'ishah reported that: during his (last) illness, the Messenger (ﷺ) said to me:

((ادْعِي لِي أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَأَخَاكِ حَتَّى أَكْتُبَ كِتَابًا فَإِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يَتَمَنَّى مُتَمَنٍّ وَيَقُولَ قَائِلٌ أَنَا أَوْلَى.‏ وَيَأْبَى اللهُ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِلاَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ))

"Call Abū Bakr and your brother for me, so that I may write a will, for I fear that someone else might be desirous (of succeeding) and that some claimant may say: I have better claim to it, whereas Allāh and the Faithful do not substantiate the claim of anyone but that of Abū Bakr."
[Muslim]

(6) Abdullāh ibn 'Umar, may Allāh be pleased with him, said:

كنا نخيِّر بين الناس في زمن النبي ﷺ، فنخيِّر أبا بكر، ثم عمر بن الخطاب، ثم عثمان رضي الله تعالى عنهم.

"We used to compare the people as to who was better during the lifetime of Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ), and we used to regard Abū Bakr as the best, then 'Umar, and then Uthmān."
[Bukhāri]

(7) Muḥammad Ibnul Ḥanafiyyah asked his father 'Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib: "Who is the best person after the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ?" He said: "Abū bakr".
[Bukhāri]

(8) An-Nawawī states:

"And Abū Bakr is the greatest Ṣaḥābī by consensus."
[Sharḥ Muslim (2381)]

4. Therefore, whoever discredits the superiority of Abū Bakr (over the rest of the Companions), or gives precedence to anyone over him, has not only opposed the 'Aqīdah of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamā'ah, but he has also opposed all of these evidences together with the consensus of the Ṣaḥābah.
